Welcome Back!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Cedar Springs Public Schools is excited to welcome back students for the 2024-2025 school year! With the first day of school on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, we want to ensure you and your student(s) are set up for a successful year.
You may receive additional emails with building-specific information from your student(s)' school. Below is some general information on what to expect in the upcoming weeks as we look forward to our students returning or beginning their journey at Cedar Springs Public Schools!
Important Information:
- School Buildings Reopening: All school buildings will re-open today, Monday, August 5, 2024, to their normal business hours.
- District Office: The district office has moved into its new space in Red Hawk and is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
We are excited to welcome our students back and look forward to seeing them on Wednesday, August 21, for the first day of school!

Forms for Parents
Education Benefits Form (one per family) (Requested)
We ask all parents and guardians to fill out the Education Benefits form to help our district secure state and federal funding for our programs, supporting instructional staff, teaching supplies, counselors, social workers, school nurses, professional learning, parent and community activities, and technology.
Opt-Out Media Release Form (Optional)
Parents and guardians may request that photographs, video and audio recordings, comments, and/or students' names not be used by completing this form and dropping it off at the district office or emailing it to communications@csredhawks.org.
Open Houses and Orientation
Monday, August 19, 2024
ECSE and Campus Kids at the Early Childhood Center from 4-6 p.m.
- ECSC - Enter through the Early Childhood Main Entrance
- Campus Kids - Enter through the Red Hawk entrance off of 17 Mile RD
Cedar Trails Elementary (PreK-1st Grades) from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Beach Elementary (2nd and 3rd Grades) from 5-6 p.m.
Cedar View Elementary (4th and 5th Grades) from 6-7 p.m.
Middle School Orientation (6th-8th Grades) from 5-7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 14
High School (Freshman and New Students) Orientation from 7-8:30 p.m.
10-12 grade students will receive an email with back-to-school information on August 12
Tuesday, September 3
- Cedar Springs Tuition Preschool at the Early Childhood Center from 4-6 p.m.
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) at the Early Childhood Center from 4-6 p.m.
Transportation
Busing information will be mailed to registered students the week of August,5. If you don’t receive information by Wednesday, August 14, please contact the Transportation Department at 616-696-1450 (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. -5 p.m.).
No transportation changes can be made between 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, 21, 2024.
Access Your Child's Special Education Documents through MiPSE
Parents and Guardians now have online access to MiPSE, the Michigan PowerSchool Special Education system. This platform allows you to view and manage your child's finalized documents, including IEPs, behavior plans, health plans, Section 504 plans, and more.
To access these documents, please fill out the following MiPSE Parent Portal Request to receive your login information. You can expect to receive your credentials within two business days.

Athletics
Tryouts for High School Athletes will take place next week, on Monday, August 12.
If your student plans to play sports in the 2024-2025 school year, make sure you have created an account on FinalForms, uploaded a physical (must be dated after 4/15/24), and added any pay-to-play payments. Once registered you will opt-in to receive athletic communications. If you have questions, reach out to our Athletic Department at 616-696-9080.
Back to School Bash
We invite our students and families to join us for our Back to School Bash on Tuesday, August 6 from 5-7 p.m. at the Cedar Trails Elementary Bus Loop (between Cedar Trails and Cedar View). The event will feature giveaways of backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last), food, activities, and fun!
