Family Newsletter May 2025 IMPACTing Each & Every Student!
Ms. Mercedes Message May 2025
GCPS Leadership Transition Plan & US Department of Education:
In the April newsletter, I shared some information regarding the GCPS Transition Plan and the USDOE. During this time of uncertainty, I will continue to be transparent and share how GCPS and Shiloh ES plan to move forward and do what we do best, serving and educating our students.
During April, the District held five separate Area Board meetings. The Shiloh Cluster is part of District IV. Dr. Adrienne Simmons is our Board representative. During the meeting, held at South Gwinnett HS on 4/29/25, Dr. Taylor, Interim Superintendent, and Dr. Simmons shared the following information:
GCPS Transition Plan
Budget Information
Information about Capital Improvements within GCPS and specifically in District IV
Information about ESPLOST (This is the 1% Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax)
Answered questions submitted by stakeholders.
Click HERE to view the meeting recording. Responses to all questions are coming soon. Most likely they will be posted here.
The School Board, Dr. Taylor, GCPS Staff, and Shiloh ES staff are committed to working together to serve our students.
Upcoming Events:

Registration:
On 4/19 and 5/2, we held 2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration events. If you have a rising Kindergartener, it is not too late! Visit our website's registration page for details. The sooner you register your student(s), the better. Doing so allows the school to plan for staffing, materials, location of classroom, class lists, schedules, and more! Feel free to share on Next Door that all schools have registration open!
If your child(ren) is currently enrolled in a GCPS school, you do not need to do anything unless the school’s registrar contacts you about needed documentation.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
