Legacy Academy Families,

We are excited to announce that the fence came down between the blacktop and the grass on Friday afternoon! I know our students and teachers are excited to be able to play on the beautiful new grass area during recess and PE. Additional playground equipment will be available to all students on Monday for the grass.

Please remember to set expectations with your children for walking to and from school. It is important that all Owls show respect to our community and the surrounding businesses. Our expectation is that they treat all adults and peers with respect, act responsibly, and ensure safety in and out of school. Thank you for your support.

PTO is continuing their membership drive, which is set to close on October 11th. There are many ways you can support the Legacy Parliament PTO and their mission to enhance the educational experience for every child at Legacy Academy. Your support can make a significant impact and they have designed various membership levels to suit your family.

As always, make sure to scroll down for the important dates below as we move into the month of October. Friday, October 11th is a Minimum Day for Track B.

Please call the school when your child is absent at (909)364-2319

Parents/guardians shall call the school office between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm, submit the absence through the Parent Portal, or send an email/hand-written note to the office, upon returning to school (BP/AR 5112.1). You have three days to clear your child’s absence. Please contact the school office in advance of any long-term (3 or more days) unavoidable absence to arrange a schedule of the work to be completed by the student. This must be done at least one week in advance.

Students should wear comfortable casual clothing that permits running, freedom of movement, and is washable so it will not be ruined by participation in Art or P.E. Comfort and good taste are the guiding principles in clothing selection. Student dress should be neat and clean. Students should be dressed and groomed in a manner that will not interfere with or detract from a school environment conducive to academic learning or study, or which disrupt or threaten to disrupt the educational or instructional process or create an unnecessary or unreasonable risk of injury or harm to any student.

• Shoes must be worn at all times. Grades K-6: Sandals must have heel straps. Thongs, thong-type, or backless shoes or sandals are not permitted. Platform shoes above 2 inches are not permitted. Roller shoes are not permitted.
• Clothing shall always be sufficient to conceal undergarments. See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, off-the-shoulder or low-cut tops, tube or strapless tops, bare midriffs, and skirts or shorts that show the buttocks are prohibited.
• Clothing, jewelry, and personal items (backpacks, fanny packs, gym bags, water bottles, etc.) shall be free of writing, pictures, or any other insignia which are crude, vulgar, profane, or sexually suggestive, which bear drug, alcohol or tobacco company advertising, promotions, and likenesses, or which advocate racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice.

CVUSD offers a Device Protection Plan that covers accidental damage to student Chromebooks and is designed to limit a CVUSD family's financial liability for any damages. The plan covers accidental damage, theft, and fire. The device will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the district. The plan is $40 per student during the current school year. Without the plan, the cost is $50 per incident. Payments can be submitted using myschoolbucks.com during the enrollment period of July 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024 (enrollment cannot be applied retroactively and exclusions apply).
