News from Ms. K.
Dear Naumann families,
The calendar turned to October so quickly! I love fall, and I am more than ready for cooler temperatures, but it felt like September flew past. We have so many fun activities for students and families to enjoy in the coming weeks. Our first spirit week will happen soon and we all have fun on those days. I can’t wait to see what the Student Council plans!
Next Thursday, we will have Naumann students speak at the LISD board meeting. They will be speaking on their involvement in campus activities and how it empowers them as students.
Parent-student-teacher conferences are coming soon! The student holiday on October 14th is conference day. Look for a sign up sheet from your child’s teacher soon. It will be a time to learn about your child’s progress so far and hear from your child about their work and goals for the year.
We will host our next Parent Engagement Meeting on October 15th at 3:30. I once again would like to invite you to lend your voice as we partner to make Naumann the best it can be. Please fill out the form to let us know if you will be attending.
Have a great weekend!

Book Reconsideration Process
Leander ISD is seeking parents and teachers interested in participating on a committee to review current LISD instructional resources that have been formally challenged. Please complete the attached form by Oct. 30, if you would like to be considered for the 2024–25 Reconsideration Committee.
Committee participants will read the challenged resource in its entirety and meet to determine whether it conforms to the principles of selection set out by Board Policies EFA (Local) and EFB (Local). Those who fill out the forms will be selected at random to participate in the process.
Muttley Crew - LISD Therapy Dog Program
I am so excited to share the news that Naumann is continuing the LISD therapy dog program, Muttley Crew! Dogs certified with their owners/handlers as Certified Dog Teams provide emotional and physical support in the educational setting. These dogs model good behavior, tolerance, and acceptance. All Certified Muttley Crew Dog Teams in Leander ISD work to support and positively influence student academic achievement and behavioral success.
Ms. Burns, 4th grade teacher, and her dog, Chloe, are a team that will be here to empower students and support during challenges. One of the requirements of the program is that Chloe is always with her handler, so you may notice the two of them together around the school. In the coming days you will see signs posted on all doors so that anyone who enters is made aware that Chloe will be here. Students will be able to visit Chloe in her class if a staff member signs them up for an appointment to go to her room.
We will introduce students to the program in our assembly with an informative presentation. Students may come home excited to tell you about the program, so we wanted to make you aware of it.
