Message from Mrs. Ortiz-Montoya, Principal
Welcome families and students to a new school year, 2024-2025. We are excited to be back at school and look forward to welcoming former and future students for an amazing school year.
Back to school is always a wonderful time to come together and meet new friends and visit with our former students who we missing seeing during the summer months. We come back to build those relationships and get back to learning and getting to know your teachers.
At Gridley, we focus on your student's success by supporting students by getting involved as problem solvers, collaborating with ech other and using their creativity and to broaden their academic goals.
Gridley is proud to serve our community and look forward to starting the new school year.

Health Office News
Hello Gridley Families from the Health Office!
We are excited to announce that our team is here to care for your student this year.
Norma Farrow - Nurse
Christina Galvez - Health Assistant
The health Office is here to help all students and parents and want to provide the best possible care to sick and healthy students.
- Tucson Unified School District has a sick policy which mandates that students must be vomit/diarrhea free as well as fever free (less than 100F) for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications before returning to school.
- Vision screenings will be held on September 4, and we have more programs to offer coming soon! Please reach out to our Health Office with any questions at (520) 731-4617.
- If you are a new family to Gridley, please provide the health office with a copy of your students updated immunization record.

Counseling Services
We hope you are excited to be back at school for another fantastic year!
Your school counselors are Ms. Susan Peters-Zillhart and Ms. Brenda Lord and they are here to support you in many ways. The counselors are here to help you manage any issues you are experiencing. Should you need help navigating any personal challenges, academic guidance, or just someone to talk too, we are here for you to reach out too. Just stop by our office in Gridley Middle School Main Office.

Band and Orchestra
Our band program expands students' technical skills and the concept of ensemble playing. Our orchestra program creates musicians who form lifelong engagement with symphonic music. The application of foundation skills expands students' technical skills, their interpretations of universal themes, and the concept of ensemble playing.
The band and orchestra programs expand application of skills emphasizes independence in technique, reading, interpretation, solo and ensemble performance and composition.
Tucson Unified School District offers a Fine and Performing Arts is committed to providing educational experiences which foster creative exploration, build community relationships and honors universal thread of humanity.
