Mock Interviews at Yucaipa High School Prepare Students for the Future
CRY-ROP staff and community members joined forces as interviewers for ROP mock interviews at Yucaipa High School, providing valuable real-world experience to students.
CRY-ROP Attends the CUE Conference in Palm Springs
CRY-ROP educators and main office staff attended the CUE conference in Palm Springs from March 18th to 20th. CUE fosters transformative teaching by linking educators with innovative ideas, resources, and each other, utilizing technology to equip all students for success in an ever-evolving world.

On International Women's Day, Colton Career Readiness Specialist Elizabeth Fregoso received the 2024 Women of Distinction award from Assembly member Eloise Reyes for her exemplary service and dedication to improving the lives of others.
CTE Teach Presents at Educating for Careers Conference
CRY-ROP's Director of Education Services and CTE TEACH Coordinator took the stage at the Educating for Careers Conference to present "Survey Says!", sharing valuable survey data on the recruitment and retention of CTE teachers across the state.
CRY-ROP Superintendent and Program Manager Visit State Legislators
Superintendent Dr. Jason B. Angle and Program Manager Elena Hernandez recently visited to discuss the impactful work of ROPs in serving California students with Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh.

Three HVAC units have been delivered to CRY-ROP, aiming for installation before summer. Big shoutout to the Facilities team for their diligent efforts in guaranteeing safe and comfortable work environments!

March Updates
In RUSD, the ICT Department bolstered infrastructure by installing 20 new access points, 4 servers, and new computers for the Animation and Game Design labs at REV and RHS, in addition to implementing 3 new network switches.
In CJUSD, 2 new servers and 2 network switches were deployed.
The upgraded infrastructure enhances network capacity, throughput, and bandwidth while also streamlining and enhancing the ICT teamโs management and troubleshooting capabilities for network devices.
The computer upgrades enhance computer responsiveness through improved Central Processing Units (CPUs), Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), and doubled random access memory (RAM), benefiting both coursework and Esports, particularly in the graphics domain.

Christine Hernandez
Christine Hernandez retired on March 14th after 39 years of dedicated service to CRY-ROP. Christine began as a Student Aide in 1982, and was hired full-time as an Attendance Clerk in 1984 From there, she moved into the role of Program Support Specialist with Education Services, Business Services, and Student Services. She has seen many milestones and changes in her time at CRY-ROP, and we wish her a heartfelt farewell and thank you for her service.
Sandra Horvatich
Sandra Horvatich will be retiring from CRY-ROP after 22 years of service. She started her journey with CRY-ROP as a student and quickly moved into the role of one of our CRY-ROP teachers. Sandra's gifts in technology helped CRY-ROP bridge the digital divide and prepared our teachers for online learning, propelling her into the role of ICT Manager. Sandra's innovation, data expertise, and forward-thinking have made her a huge asset to CRY-ROP.

The CRY-ROP Educational Foundation, Inc. enriches the experience of Career Technical Education students by serving as a catalyst and funding source for promoting and celebrating education success, encouraging lifelong learning, and contributing to studentsโ future career and educational goals. Funds raised through the Educational Foundation go directly to funding student award scholarships, which are presented at the annual Evening of Excellence.
