Howdy Bransford Families!

Brrrr! I hope this finds everyone safe and warm. I am grateful for football, my fuzzy blanket, and The Sasquatch Escape to read on this chilly, snuggly day. My big kids aren't big on snuggles so soak it up while they are little.

This week was a wonderful restart to 2025. With only one day the week before, I know it took me a few days to regulate on what day it was. Our students showed up ready to work and learn and grow - no surprise there!

On Tuesday, Mrs. Brock revealed our One School One Book for 2025 - The Sasquatch Escape! After the reveal, she scheduled a zoom call with the author, Suzanne Selfors. How fantastic! Author Selfors told us about herself, where she lives, and why she wrote a series on Sasquatch. It was interesting and got us inspired as readers and writers. A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Brock for her hard work in planning One School One Book for us again this year plus to our PTA who purchased a book for every family at BES! I love this project every year - it is so fun to have a common topic to discuss with all students and staff!

On Wednesday, I was proud to listen as Cara J in 4th grade shared on the elementary student panel how attending Bransford has impacted her learning. She shared how being an Arts Integration school makes learning fun, engaging, and helps her learn. Cara spoke alongside 5 other students in GCISD to many community members and leaders at GCISD LEADERSHIP DAY.

Mrs. Allen and I enjoyed January birthday lunches on Friday with all our students who have a birthday in January (not required but invited). We always enjoy their conversations! Mrs. Allen and I were grateful for some sunshine Friday afternoon as we had some Parties with the Principals to celebrate strong choices in the hallway. Our students are truly The BESt!
