The Howler
May Newsletter 2024-2025
Heartfelt Thank You!
Dear Shadow Hills Families,
May came at us......well....let's just be real...at WARP SPEED! This is our last Howler for this school year, and thank you for double checking it twice....and probably a good idea to double check what teachers are sending home, too.
We will send out a Howler for the first week of June with Back to School Dates and Times, Staffing Updates, and Classroom Location Changes.
Thank you for SPOILING us this week for Staff Appreciation! The volunteers who came in after school Friday to decorate--best welcome to school for a Monday. The game theme is so fun bringing back such memories! With the special breakfast, personalized gifts for all staff, amazing snacks, the CANDY, and pizza for lunch this week--we are feeling the sweetness and the love. We appreciate you! Our Shadow Hills Families are amazing and your support does not go unnoticed! With all of the year end activities we have planned, we look forward to seeing you at the school.
Lastly, FIELD DAY 2025 is right around the corner. This is one of our best family and student events of th year! The success of it, in partnership with Mr. T, relies on your ability to volunteer. Thank you for signing up to volunteer!
Fiels Day 2025 Sign Up--Mr. T. THANKS YOU!
Sincerely and with Gratitude,
The Shadow Hills Staff

New Procedure for Bike and Scooter Riders--SAFETY First
We appreciate your support and attention to the changes we have implemented for student safety. Inserted is a map showing where students will park their bikes depending on the direction that they come from to school.
Students coming from the West (Bogart) will park in the West bike rack--adjacent to our parking lot. Students coming from the East (Riverglenn Jr. High) will park in the East bike rack--front of JFK. The reason why we implemented this procedure is that students are riding their bikes/scooters through the playground and near the bus loop resulting in unsafe incidents.
Students are expected to walk their bikes/scooters on the sidewalks as soon as they arrive onto the school property. Students are also expected to walk their bikes/scooters across the crosswalks.
We are asking for your assistance in teaching our students that it is not safe or is allowed to cross the bus loop or go through the parking lot on bikes/scooters. This continues to be a concern where we are relying on your support and reinforcement.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out and we will work through this together.

We’ll dig it up during the last week of school. We are participating in the Citywide Plogging 2025 and our team name is Wolves Against Waste. https://www.boisenice.org/ Here is a website to show you what we're up to…https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/state-offices/oregon/soil-your-undies-challenge
