A Great First Week at Primary!
What a fantastic first week of school! It’s been wonderful to see so many smiles, new friendships forming, and students eagerly learning their new routines. Our staff has been working hard to make sure each child feels welcomed and supported, and the energy throughout the building has been so positive.
At Primary School, we know how deeply our families care for their children, and we take safety very seriously. September is Safety Month, and we will be focusing on how to stay safe in various situations because every student is special and loved. We focused on bus safety this week and fire safety is next week.
We look forward to a great year ahead, filled with learning, growth, and friendships!
Have a great weekend,

New Incident Protocol
Our school has adopted the “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP). Students and staff will be training, practicing, and using the protocol.
The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is based on an all-hazards approach as opposed to individual scenarios. Like the Incident Command System (ICS), SRP utilizes clear common language while allowing for flexibility in protocol. The premise is simple - there are five specific actions that can be performed during an incident. When communicating these, the action is labeled with a “Term of Art” and is then followed by a “Directive.” Execution of the action is performed by active participants, including students, staff, teachers and first responders. The SRP is based on the following actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.
Click here to visit the District Website to learn more about the “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP).
Bus Safety
As we begin the school year, our primary students are learning important bus safety rules to ensure safe and enjoyable rides. These rules include keeping their body calm and inside the bus, staying seated and facing forward, and listening to and following directions from the bus driver. Please help reinforce these safety guidelines at home by discussing them with your child and encourage safety!
Fire Safety
Our safety focus for next week will be fire safety. To kick things off, we will be holding our first fire drill today, giving students the chance to practice safe and calm evacuation procedures. We are required to have 5 fire drills throughout the school year to practice safety. This is a great opportunity to remind your child about the importance of fire safety at school and at home.
