The Weekly SharkBeat!
SJHS Weekly Parent Newsletter - April 21, 2024
This past week was a busy week at SJHS! Many of our Seniors traveled to Disney for the annual Senior trip, our JROTC hosted it's annual car show and sent a team to the Best of the Best Raider competition, and our Musical Theater Department was busy making final preparations for "Footloose." Also, this week, our Sharks Varsity Girls Soccer Team, Varsity Softball Team, and Varsity Baseball Team all wrapped up Region Championships! We are excited for all our Spring Sports teams as they head into the playoffs. Our Girls and Boys Lacrosse teams both wrapped up their seasons this week at Lexington. I'd like to congratulate both teams on successful seasons.
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for the love and support you expressed this week! Please keep our students and faculty in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to mourn.
Thank you for taking the time to review the Weekly Sharkbeat Newsletter. Please check the school website and Facebook page for additional updates and information. Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Shark family. Have a great evening, keep swimming forward, and as always, Go SHARKS!

FFA Beautifies Our Campus
Our agriculture class is working hard around the school to brighten up our campus. This week their focus was the front of the building. The flowers are beautiful and adds a welcoming touch for our students and visitors.

Our ladies softball team is Region Champs for four years running. These ladies work hard on the field and we look forward to the playoffs. Tuesday is Teacher Appreciation Night against NMB. We hope you will come out and see our lady Sharks in action.

A Note From Guidance
Seniors and parents:
Senior students - It is almost the end of your senior year, and we need some information from you about your plans after graduation. Please click on the link below and complete the form so that we will know where we need to send your final transcript. Students have to be logged into their google account to complete this form.
We are continuing to get scholarships for students to complete. Please use the link below to find out what you can apply for.
As we are preparing for the end of the year, we need to compile a list of all seniors who have been awarded scholarships and/or money from the colleges or organizations. We do this to calculate the grand total of scholarship earnings from SJH graduating class.
Please use the following google form: https://forms.gle/BXZ2T3QdYmZu2fC87
You will need to complete this form MULTIPLE TIMES for each scholarship that you have been awarded. Please report EVERY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED OR MONEY OFFERED FROM COLLEGES (even if you do not plan on attending that college).
DO NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Money received from FAFSA: Pell Grant, SC Grant, Financial Aid, Life, Hope or Palmetto Fellows Scholarship
Underclassmen and parents:

Students graduating are guaranteed 6 tickets. Extra tickets may be requested by contacting the school. Additional tickets are not guaranteed but simply a request. We try to accommodate everyone the best as possible. We will not know how many extra tickets we will have until senior grades are finalized. Students will get tickets the day of graduation practice at the HTC center. We try to accommodate their needs but we need to be fair to everyone. Early Pick Up
If you plan to pick your student up early or your student will drive off campus early, please send a note with your student to be turned in before school starts at the Welcome Desk. We will verify the note and give your student a pass to meet you or leave at the appropriate time. Sending a note cuts down on class interruptions. Unfortunately, we cannot accept phone calls or emails to dismiss students. We appreciate your help.
Driving On Campus
Parents should always use the front entrance to pick students up for early dismissal. Additionally, we ask that you follow the traffic pattern set forth by SJH. Please do not move cones, go around cones or make unsafe decisions to shorten your time on campus. Please help us keep our students safe by following our traffic patterns.
