This Thursday, September 19th at 6:00 p.m., BHS will host Financial Aid Night in the Library Media Center. We encourage all of our seniors parents to attend this event, where a representative from CONNTAC Educational Opportunity Center will present the ins and outs of financial aid. Refreshments will be served.

Congratulations to BHS' Athletic Department which has been selected as a 2023-2024 CIAC "Michaels Jewelers Achievement Cup" Exemplary Program recipient. BHS will receive its award on Monday, October 7th at the CIAC Sportsmanship Conference at the Aqua Turf. The Michaels Cup honors those athletic programs that prioritize sportsmanship.

On September 10th and 11th, BHS hosted its annual Club Rush during all three lunch waves in the BHS Cafeteria. Students were able to visit displays from different clubs and activities, learn about the different clubs, and sign up for future meetings. This was a great chance for students to explore the different extracurricular activities available to them. We encourage all of our students to get involved.

Girls Soccer:

• On Monday, September 9th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team fell to Conard, 1-7. Indya Norman scored the goal for the Warhawks.
• On Thursday, September 12th, BHS' Varsity Girls Soccer Team tied East Hartford, 1-1. Goals for the Warhawks were scored by Indya Norman and Sarah Premier.

Boys Soccer:

• On Monday, September 9th, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team defeated East Catholic, 3-1. Goals for the Warhawks were scored by Kenai French (2) and Ramone Cunningham (1).
• On Tuesday, September 10th, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team fell to South Windsor, 0-6.
• On Thursday, September 12th, BHS' Varsity Boys Soccer Team fell to Plainville, 2-4.

Football:

• On Friday, September 13th, BHS' Varsity Football Team defeated Rocky Hill, 24-0. Touchdowns for the Warhawks were scored by Zion Banton (2), Cameron White (1), and Lamont Applewhite (1).

Girls Cross Country:

• On Tuesday, September 10th, BHS' Varsity Girls Cross Country Team defeated Newington, 19-42. Top five finishers for the girls were: D'Asia Duncan, Jahniya Barclay, Soleigh Dixon, Caleah Baker, and Joanna Ansah-Okae.
• On Friday, September 13th, BHS' Varsity Girls Cross Country Team competed in the Harry Geraghty XC Invite. The girls finished 5th in the Varsity division. Top five finishers for the girls were: D'Asia Duncan, Jahniya Barclay, Soleigh Dixon, Kiersten Golding and Joanna Ansah-Okae.

Boys Cross Country:

• On Tuesday, September 10th, BHS' Varsity Boys Cross Country Team fell to Newington, 15-0. The top finisher for the boys was Nehemiah Raphael-Adams.

Unified Sports:

• Unified Sports is looking for volunteers. Students partner up with athletes with developmental disabilities to help them learn various sports. No prior knowledge of the sport is required. You can participate in one season or all year, even if you participate in other athletics. Commitment is only 4-5 games per season. Please see Ms. Angiletta if you are interested in participating.

BHS Sophomore Sanai Nelson has been selected as a nominee for the 2023 Heart of A Giant Award. This prestigious award recognizes Tri-State area high school student-athletes, team mascots, team managers, and other designated team members who have an unparalleled work ethic and passion for the game.
