Dear Page Families,
As we come to the last three weeks of the 2nd quarter and 1st semester I am filled with excitement and optimism for the opportunities that the rest of the school year will bring. I encourage you to stay engaged by reading the WT Page Weekly Newsletter to learn more about upcoming school events and PTA-sponsored activities, fundraisers and more.
1. Meet Montgomery County Councilmember, Ms. Kristin Mink from District 5 at the Tamarack Triangle Community Association meeting held at Page ES on Tuesday, January 21st @ 7:00 PM. Councilmember Mink serves on the County Council’s Public Safety Committee and the Education and Culture Committee where she is the Council’s Lead for Libraries. She will be presenting from 7:00 - 7:25 pm)
2. Do you have a change in your student's dismissal plan? If you have a change in how your student(s) will dismiss from school for the day, week, or any length of time, please communicate the change the classroom teacher and reach out to Mrs. Hedley (Dawn_L_Hedley@mcpsmd.org) in the main office by phone or email. This will ensure the main office, teachers, and administration are aware of the adjustment in how your student is dismissing from school.
3. Reminder about Student absences - please notify the classroom teacher and main office by email (Dawn_L_Hedley@mcpsmd.org) or by phone of your child's absence. In your message inform the school of the reason for the absence. ex. sick, appointment, travel, etc.
4. Update your contact Information - It is also important to stay connected with your child’s school. We want to make sure we can reach you quickly in emergencies or to share important updates. Your contact information is private, will not be shared, and is only used to support your child’s safety. This information can be updated in ParentVUE or via this form.

The Special Education Resource Fair
Set for 5:30–7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15 in the auditorium at Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. This event is open to all parents who have children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). MCPS families can learn more from community organizations about after-school activities, summer programs and tutoring.
Operating Budget Public Hearings
Superintendent Thomas Taylor has proposed a $3.61 billion Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2026. The recommendation reflects a “Focus on Fundamentals” approach that targets investments directly to schools, supports student success and addresses structural deficits within the system.
The Board of Education will hold the following public hearings and work sessions on the budget:
- Public Hearings: Thursday, Jan. 16, and Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
- Work Sessions: Tuesday, Jan. 14, Thursday, Jan. 23, and Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025.
- Board Approval: Tentative adoption of operating budget; Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025.
- Final Adoption: Adjustments based on revenue projections will follow, with final adoption expected Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Clothes for Cash is a fundraiser that supports our Page Students. Donate your clothes to the school when you clean out your closets and place them in a white plastic bag and place them in the white bin located at the carpool loop exit. Page ES receives 10 cent per pound.
Magnus Chess Academy - Winter session starting February 4th.
Big Learning - Science & Engineering - Winter session starting January 16th.
Last Day for Silent Auction Donations - January 15th
Do you own or work for a business that takes supporting the community seriously? Does the thought of showing off your product or services to the William Tyler Page community sound appealing?
The WT Page PTA is gearing up for our 2025 Silent Auction and we need your support! Please consider a donation of goods, services, or experiences to help us raise money for our kids. All proceeds from the auction directly benefit our students, providing everything from classroom supplies, to technology upgrades, to extracurricular activities and special events.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on our school community. If you are interested in donating, email fundraising@wtpagepta.org by January 15, 2025 to coordinate a convenient pickup or drop-off.

- While our beloved teachers are busy raising the bar for our kiddos, we are going to set a different "BAR" for them daily to say "Thank YOU" for all their hard work.
