Parent Update
Hello KRMS families,
As we enter into the last few weeks of the school year next week, I wanted to reach out and thank the faculty, staff, families, and students for the opportunity to work together this year. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to be in a leadership role within our communities and work with such incredible people.
Please do your best to pay your school lunch balances as soon as possible. Students who have a negative balance have been notified multiple times by mail and in person that they owe money. As of June 1st, our school cafeteria will not allow students with a negative balance to charge to their account. Please reach out if you have any questions or need help with your account.
As we wrap up this year, there are a few other important dates to remember. Our 8th graders will be heading to Canobie Lake on June 19th. As I have previously mentioned, over the last couple of years, we have not hosted a formal "promotion" for the 8th grade. We have shifted to providing opportunities for the students to celebrate with school activities with their peers. On Thursday June 20th, there will be an award assembly for the 8th grade. Parents of students receiving awards will be notified. After the assembly, 8th grade students will participate in some organized fun activities and a BBQ. June 21st will be our last day of school and it is a half day with a noon time dismissal.
Upcoming 7th and 8th graders will receive their team placements within the first couple of weeks in August. Those will most likely come either via mail or email, so please be on the lookout for those.
I have greatly appreciated your support and collaboration this year. If there is anything that I can assist you or your child with, please reach out to me directly. I wish our 8th graders a strong transition into their high school years and our 7th graders a confident transition into 8th grade.
Sincerely,
Kerry Hunt
