IMPORTANT: Ohio State Testing Information

On testing days, please make sure students have:

Fully charged chromebooks
Chromebook charger
Headphones or earbuds they plug into their chromebook. (optional, but highly recommended)

4/25 - 6th and 7th grade Math (No school for 5th and 8th graders)

*If at all possible, please avoid scheduling vacations and appointments on testing days.

NMS Student Athletes

Student Athletes: This is a reminder that this quarter’s grades will determine your eligibility for fall sports next school year. Please make sure you are giving your best efforts, so you can remain eligible and play sports in the fall. Completing all assignments is an important first step to academic success.

Norton City School Eligibility Requirements:

GPA of 1.5
Passing 4, 1 credit classes. (PE and study hall grades do not count for this requirement).

Taco Bell and Student Safety

We want to take a moment to share an important message regarding student safety in our community. It has come to our attention that a new Taco Bell restaurant is rumored to be opening nearby in the coming weeks. While we are excited to welcome a new business to the area and support local establishments, we also want to be proactive in addressing concerns related to student safety.

As the new restaurant is located across a busy street, we are strongly urging families not to allow students to walk to Taco Bell or any off-campus establishments after school. These areas are beyond school grounds, and once students leave campus, we are unable to monitor or ensure their behavior or safety.

We kindly ask that parents continue to utilize our designated carpool lanes or school transportation options for dismissal. These systems are in place to provide safe and efficient ways for students to travel to and from school.

For families whose children walk home, we encourage you to have conversations with your child about pedestrian safety. Please remind them to:

Use only designated crosswalk
Press the pedestrian crossing button and wait for the appropriate signal before crossing
Avoid distractions such as phones or headphones when crossing streets

The teaching staff at Norton City Schools for grades K-12 use Progress Book software for purposes applicable to their grade level: Grades K, 1, and 2 use Progress Book for report card entry only.
