A Note From the Principal

Dear Munson Parents and Guardians,

Since we have reached our 5th calamity day, we want to inform you about our Blizzard Bag Plan for Munson Elementary, which went home with your students on Wednesday, February 12. We are providing Blizzard Bags to your child in the event of inclement weather resulting in a school closure. This will enable your child to continue their learning at home. These bags will contain TWO DAYS' WORTH of assignments and activities that align with their current curriculum. Your child's teacher will provide instructions, and we encourage you to engage with your child in completing these assignments to ensure continuity in their education. You will have 10 school days to complete each day's Blizzard Bag assignments. For example, if we have a snow day on March 1st, the bag would be due on March 15th. *Please be sure to complete ONE activity/assignment for your student's special class (music, PE, art, world language, or library/tech) that would have occurred on each calamity day.* We appreciate your support in making learning a collaborative effort, even on snow days. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office.

Conferences - March 6, by Teacher Invitation ONLY

Teachers will hold conferences on Thursday, March 6 from 4:30-8:15pm. These conferences will be by TEACHER INVITATION ONLY. If your child's teacher would like to schedule a conference with you, he or she will reach out to you directly. Then you can visit the link provided to schedule the conference, or call the office at 440-286-5901 and we will schedule you. Thank you!

As we continue to navigate this winter season, here's a quick reminder of when to keep your child home, and important hygiene practices to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.

Topper Tickets

Topper Tickets are given to students as a special recognition when they demonstrate a Topper Trait - Taking Responsibility, Offering Kindness, and Persevering. Each day, we randomly pull a few Topper Tickets from each grade level to receive a prize!

The Infinite Campus Annual Update must be completed by ALL Chardon Local Schools households every year, for every student, even if there are no changes. We need your updated information as soon as possible! Find instructions on how to complete the Annual Update HERE.

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration is OPEN!

Chardon Schools is excited to welcome your Hilltopper to school in the fall! Convenient, online registration for your kindergarten student is now available. Your student must be five (5) years of age or older on or before August 1, 2025 to attend kindergarten in 2025-2026. Please visit the Chardon Schools Registration page to learn more and enroll!

Chardon Family Connection Nights!

Are you looking for ways to grow together as a family? Join us at Chardon Middle School for a multi-part series of activities to foster connection and build confidence within your family. Arts and crafts supplies and a light snack will be provided! Your family is welcome to attend one night or multiple sessions. We are limited to 30 families per event, so don't wait to sign up! Donut With a Grownup!

Join the PTO for Donut with a Grownup! Students and ONE adult are welcome to enjoy donuts with their grade level. We had a great time with 1st and 2nd grade, and look forward to seeing 3rd grade on February 25 from 8:30-9:10am in the gym!

Mother & Son Nerf Wars - March 1! Sign Up Here!

Join the PTO for Mother & Son Nerf Wars at Emeth Gym on Saturday, March 1 from 4-5:30pm! We'll have Nerf battles, games, open gym, pizza, and drinks! Cost is $30 per mom/son couple, and $15 for each additional son. *You must bring your own Nerf gun and bullets.*
