GrantEd program
The 622 Education Foundation is excited to announce that 16 projects have been selected for $500 grants based on the nominations we received this fall for our GrantEd program. We were pleased to see so many high-quality applications from across the district, especially given this is just the second year of the program. As you can imagine, it was incredibly difficult for us to come up with a final list of projects to fund. We rated submissions based on four criteria (impact, innovation, foundation alignment, district priority) and sought out additional input from school administration as well as from the directors of Communications & Technology and Teaching & Learning. Here are the projects:
Note that we again received over 20 submissions and 12 schools represented! This year we expanded the number of awardees by selecting an additional project through a partnership with the Friends of Maplewood Nature non-profit. We will work with the awardees to gather information related to project impact (pictures, video, testimonials, etc.) throughout this program and communicate best practices through a variety of channels in order to maximize the impact and build momentum for the next academic year. Thank you for your partnership and all you do to enhance the quality of education for students in Independent School District 622! Although our non-profit organization is separate from the district, we are dedicated to supporting it with the shared mission of creating, enriching, and expanding programs that enhance the quality of education for all students.
Sincerely,
The 622 Education Foundation

Students will be able to participate in clubs with focuses on art, science, financial literacy, athletics, cultural appreciation, theater, debate, music and much more. Many clubs will also contain an academic focus that will qualify them as Targeted Services classes and that will allow students to improve vital academic skills while enrolled in the club. Community Resources
Measles and the MMR vaccine
Minnesota has identified cases of measles in children who recently returned to the U.S. after traveling internationally. The decline in measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine coverage, coupled with the increase in measles disease nationally and internationally, puts Minnesota at risk of additional measles cases and a measles outbreak.
MDH has information about measles and the MMR vaccine: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/measles/measlesfacts.html
If your child has any symptoms, please contact your medical provider and school nurse.
Ramsey County Vaccination Clinics
Ramsey County is offering vaccinations clinics. More information can be found on the Ramsey County website.
Washington County Vaccination Clinics
Washington County is offering monthly vaccination clinics. Appointments can be scheduled on the Washington County website.
