Dr. Kyle Boyer is officially here as our newest Assistant Principal. Dr. Boyer most recently served as Dean of Students at Norristown Area High School. He is committed to fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth. Welcome to the East community!

Student Council
Diwali Celebration
The East Interfaith Group partnered with the South Asian Society to celebrate Diwali. They learned about the origins of the holiday and how people celebrate.
Our Marching Vikings!
A huge congratulations to the WCE marching band who placed 1st in their division with a score 90.6 ~ the highest known score in East history!
Top Awards
They also earned Best Overall Effect and Best Overall Visuals honors. They are currently ranked 4th out of 19 in their division.
This Saturday
Good luck to Mr. Orlando and the marching band members as they compete at Nationals this weekend in Allentown. Go Vikings!

Student Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer at the Borough of West Chester Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning between 7:00am and 9:30 am. Street marshalls are needed along the race route. To volunteer, sign up here.

Come Catch a Show
WCE Theater Company Presents...
...HOLES! Show dates are Thursday and Friday November 14th and 15th @7pm. Saturday November 16th @1pm and 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 with your student ID on Friday night's performance. You've read the book and seen the movie, now come watch it LIVE at East!

Revisiting Cell Phone Expectations
The year started strong with a clear understanding of limiting cell phone use to lunchtime and study hall. We've noticed a slight uptick in the use of cell phones during class time. Please continue to engage in conversations with your children about acceptable use of phones during the school day. We will continue to reinforce the expectations on our end.
Last Call for Early AP Exam Registration
Payment for AP Exams is due on November 8th. The cost is $103 per exam and $152 for Seminar or Research requirements. You will be able to make your payments online through PaySchoolsCentral. If you have any questions please reach out to Theresa Phethean, AP Coordinator, at tphethean@wcasd.net . After this date, the price will increase by $40.

Peer Tutoring
The National Honor Society Tutoring Program is open and ready for business. Students in need of a tutor should complete the Tutor Request Form and submit it via email or hard copy to their counselor or administrator.
Alumni News
We are looking forward to the induction of internationally recognized realism artist, Nicholas Santoleri, into the East High School Hall of Fame. A ceremony will be held at East on November 21st. Current students will be in attendance to learn all about Mr. Santoleri's path to success. Congratulations to Nicholas and his family!
