CELEBRATIONS
Great things are happening at WCS!
This Thursday, our cafeteria served their annual Thanksgiving Dinner. This delicious meal included turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, squash, cranberry sauce, and apple crisp with whipped cream! Mrs. Wells and Mrs. Small put so much love and joy into this meal, and we want to recognize the hard work it took to bring everything together!
MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE: 12/6
The Student Leadership Team would like to invite the entire WCS Middle School to the Winter Wonderland dance, on Friday: 12/6, from 6:30 - 8:30PM. This will be a semi-formal event (no pajamas, sweatpants, or slippers.) The entry cost will be $3 with snacks available to purchase, ranging in price from $1-$3. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new Gaga Ball Pit on the playground.
HALF DAYS: MON & TUE
Next Monday and Tuesday (11/25 & 11/26) are half days, with dismissal happening at 12pm. Parents can expect bus drop off to be approximately 3 hours earlier those days.
CONFERENCE SIGN UP
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held from 12-6pm on Monday, November 25th. Parents are encouraged to sign up for a chance to meet with their student's teacher(s). To select an appointment time, click the following link, or visit our school website to find a link there. If you are not able to find a time that works for you, please reach out to your student's teacher to coordinate another date/time to meet. The deadline to sign-up is midnight tonight.
SCHOOL PICTURES
If you ordered school pictures using the paper order form, your school pictures have arrived. They will be making their way home via "backpack express" either this afternoon or on Monday. Orders that were placed online are being processed now, and will be delivered to the school shortly (we'll keep you posted!) Class photos will be delivered separately.
If you have any questions regarding your order, please contact Soggy Dog Designs at: theteam@soggydogdesigns.com
Mrs. Garland's class spent some time with Corporal Michael Jones from the Bath Police Department this week. They learned about police work, and got a tour of his police cruiser. Thank you to Cpl. Jones for sharing his time with our school!
WCS SPIRIT WEEK
This week we celebrated our Woolwich Pride with Spirit Week! Students and staff arrived to school dressed according specific daily themes. Take a look at our Wildcats in action!
LINES FROM THE LIBRARY
We are wrapping up another successful year of Global Read Aloud participation! This year, K-3 students have been enjoying picture books by Minh Le during their library visits. Through these books, we have connected with each other and students all over the world via Padlet. It’s a fun way to show how books can bring us together. Ask your student which GRA book was their favorite!
Things to Talk About
- Monday and Tuesday of next week will be half days for students in grades K-8 (there is no Pre-K next week.) There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week as we pause for Thanksgiving break. We hope everyone has a safe and happy vacation. We'll see everyone back at school on Monday, 12/2.
- SAVE THE DATE: The WCS PTA is holding their annual Winter Tree Lighting event on 12/17 at 6pm. Join us for some cookies, cocoa, and caroling as we light up the winter night!
