attendance matter- Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences add up! When a student days a misses 2 days a month. They will miss 20 DAYS a year. They will miss 30 HOURS of math over the school year. They will miss 60 HOURS of reading & writing over the school year. They will miss over 1 YEAR of school by graduation. When a student misses 4 days a month.. They will miss 40 DAYS a year. They will miss 60 HOURS of math over the school year. They will miss 120 HOURS of reading & writing over the school year. They will miss over 2 YEARS of school by graduation.

manipulatives or
anything but a calculator!

Offered in UEB, Nemeth, large print
Educational workshop for families

Who is invited?

K-12 students with visual impairments (braille and print readers)
Parents and family members for parent workshops
Teachers of the visually impaired, paraprofessionals, administrators, district staff, volunteers, etc.

The Kentucky APH Abacus Math Bee is a regional event of the American Printing House for the Blind’s National Abacus Bee. The Kentucky event is a qualifier for the Abacus Bee Finals in Louisville, Kentucky to be held in the spring of 2025.

How a Paycheck Can Work with a Government Check

For Students, Family Members, School Staff, & Employment Specialists

At the end of the 30 minutes, you will be able to use ky.db101.org/ to see how having a job in high school means you have more money now and when you graduate.

Wednesday, 3:00 - 4:30 Eastern Time, October 9, 2024

This FREE workshop includes guidance on how people with disabilities can work and maximize earnings without losing Social Security benefits. It provides information about work incentives for the two main types of Social Security benefits: SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance).
