Bordeaux Elementary School
November 24, 2024
Dear Families,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. This past Friday, our counselor Mr. Wirzbicki, family liaison Wendy Lankelis, our administration team and volunteers helped to distribute food bags and gift cards to our Bordeaux Families. This annual event could not have happened without the generous contributions from the following organizations: Bordeaux Elementary PTSO provided gift cards, Marquessa Allen Family of Olympia donated food bags, Shelton Fred Meyer donated food and various contributions from the Bordeaux staff. In all Bordeaux provided over 70 food bags and gift cards to families this year.
This Wednesday we are celebrating students earning thousands of Bulldog Tickets by having a spirit day where we are encouraging students to wear any sports related clothing, uniforms, and/or hats.
This Wednesday is also a ½ day where students will be dismissed at 12:30. We are also excited to welcome the local Canoe Families and other Native representatives to Bordeaux where they will be showcasing some traditional songs, drumming, and dancing. A special thanks to Ms. Aurora and Ms. Tamika, our fabulous Native Ed staff, for helping us to continue this tradition.
This past fall the Bordeaux Elementary PTSO held a fall fund drive to help support the many programs sponsored by our PTSO. The fund drive raised over $6000. Addison Fisher, a fourth grader at Bordeaux Elementary, was the top student fund raiser at our school and received an Electric Scooter as the winning prize. Thank you all for continuing to support the many programs sponsored by your PTSO.
On Friday the Fraternal Order of Eagles organization of Shelton delivered a check for the amount $538 to be used to help our families in need here at Bordeaux Elementary. The organization held a fundraiser on October 26 with the proceeds going to our school. On behalf of our Bordeaux Elementary community we would like to thank them for this generous donation.
Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, we all hope that you are able to surround yourself with family and friends this upcoming four day weekend and find something joyful to spend your time doing. We are all very thankful that you share your students with us each and every day. There isn’t a better place to work or a better community to be a part of than at Bordeaux Elementary. I’m thankful to be a part of it. As always, it’s a great week to be a Bordeaux Bulldog!
