Museum Visit
Last Friday, Canaan from the Rotorua Museum visited Pukaki 1 and provided students with an opportunity to have their say as to what should be included in the museum when it reopens.
Students were able to share their ideas about what they'd like to see, hear, experience and learn about. It was such a neat opportunity for the students who absolutely made the most of it and covered the sheets with amazing ideas. Some of the ideas included:
New Zealand and Rotorua history, as well as utilising technology to share our stories with virtual reality etc
NZ species of native animals and plants
Covid Pandemic
Dawn Raids and NZ Wars
Space area with facts about space and a scaled down solar system
Interactive technology - things you can touch or look through
Experiencing New Zealand's part in WW1 and WW2
There was also mention of a massive slide being incorporated into the museum for added "engagement".
Over the coming weeks our data will be collated and analysed as the museum team begin to put together plans for the future of our museum.
