Missing school means missing out on learning opportunities. Let’s work together to ensure our students are in school, engaged, and ready to thrive. Attendance is the first step to success!

• Any absence that extends beyond thirty minutes at the beginning or the end of the day will be counted as a half day absence. Any time less than thirty minutes will be documented as tardy.

• If your child/children are absent for more than five days, you will be notified with an auto-generated letter from their school.

• A similar letter will follow if absences exceed ten days. At this point you may be asked to provide a physician’s note for all future absences.
  

Thank you for your commitment to your child's education and for partnering with us to ensure their academic success. Together, we can make a positive impact on their future.

The end of school days are hectic, loud, and crowded at times. To relieve our teachers and office staff of some stress, we are requesting that all end of day dismissal changes are called in to the main office by 3:10PM. If calls are made after that the requested time, we can not guarantee that it will be communicated to your student properly. Our students are so excited to get to other fun activities at the end of the school day that they may only remember to think about their normal end of day dismissal procedure instead of their changed plan.

We want to stress that this is a community effort and we all need to work together to make this slight change a success!

Our pickup date has been finalized! During Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 18 between 11:30 and 6:00PM, families can stop in the cafeteria to pick up their wreath orders. Signs will be posted outside, as well as throughout the school, to direct you to the correct location. In addition, a ‘Holiday Decoration Care, Handling, and Storage Tips’ letter will be provided to help keep your wreaths looking fresh for the entire holiday season!

If you are unable to pick-up your wreath as this specified time, please contact the main office at your earliest convenience. We want to thank you again for your generous contributions.

As the weather starts to cool off, it's important for families to ensure that your student(s) are dressed in appropriate clothing for the changing temperatures. Wearing layers, including sweaters, jackets, and long pants, can help keep kids comfortable as they go to and from school and during outdoor recess. Additionally, it's a good idea to make sure they have appropriate footwear for potentially wet or slippery conditions. Cleats are not school appropriate footwear.

Based on 'Feels like' temperature:

• 40-50 degrees requires long sleeves
• 40 degrees or less requires a winter jacket
• If a student does not have boots or snow pants, they must remain on the blacktop. No exceptions allowed.
• All students are expected to respect snow rules

The Art Club at Jefferson Elementary School is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club to accommodate the high level of interest! The club will now meet at the Boys and Girls Club, providing an opportunity for students to join the club at no cost.
