MCCHS FRIDAY FOCUS
247th ISSUE: November 18, 2022
From the Desk of Ms. Debra Novy
I can’t believe that we are on the doorstep of Thanksgiving! Time certainly flies, especially with so much activity going on at Marian. It makes me think about the many things that we have to be thankful for here at Marian Central.
We are quite thankful for the amazing turnout of prospective families at this past weekend’s open house! The work that Mrs. Bordeaux and her team put in to communicate to the public all that Marian has to offer has certainly made a difference! We were proud to showcase our unique features as families went from department to department, engaging with students and staff and seeing what it means to be a Hurricane!
We are very blessed to have a faculty that always has students’ best interests in mind; always focused on raising the bar and holding students accountable for their learning, while at the same time developing relationships and modeling our Catholic beliefs.
Our support staff here at Marian Central are truly the heart of the building! Our maintenance staff ensures that the building is well-maintained, our office staff makes the school run smoothly, and all of the other individuals, from coaches to volunteers, to the Deanery Churches & schools that support what we do here at Marian.
We are extremely thankful for our alumni and families, current and future, of Marian Central. Without your continued support of your students, our staff, and the institution as a whole, this school would truly cease to exist… and what a loss that would be! You allow Marian Central to make an impact on each of our students as well as the rest of the community.
We are also so blessed that we have a student body that loves to be part of Marian Central. Through their education, through their engagement in sports and other co-curriculars, through their service to others, and through their love of God… our students should hold their heads up high and proudly proclaim that “We are Marian Central!” It is because of our students that the rest of us at Marian Central do what we do.
Finally, and most importantly, we thank God. As Father Warren set for our theme this year, “Behold, the Lamb of God,” as long as we have God in our sights in everything we do, there is nothing that we cannot do together, in the Lord.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Ms. Novy

Congratulations to the freshmen who will receive a day off school! MCHD Guest Speaker Notes
On Tuesday, November 15, a guest speaker from the McHenry County Health Department visited Marian Central to speak with our students. We feel that the information that was shared is very important and should be shared with you, the parents/guardians as well. In addition, students continued this discussion in a smaller setting. Please click the link below to view both the MCHD presentation and the information shared in each Advisory class.
