A message from Counselor, Mr. Jeff Lucas
***Seniors, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is being revamped this year. The new FAFSA will be available online in early to mid-December. You can create your account online at this time. Students and at least one parent/guardian will need to set up a FAFSA ID prior to be able to access the FAFSA form. A FAFSA ID can be created by going to https://studentaid.gov/ and clicking “Create Account” in the top right-hand corner. See your home high school counselor or Mr. Lucas at the Career Academy with any questions.
***Juniors and seniors looking to take college credit classes at WITCC or online thru WITCC for the spring semester can register for these classes. A WITCC registration form is required for any classes. See your home high school counselor or Mr. Lucas at the Career Academy to get registered.
*** Seniors, we are in the middle of college application season. If you have yet to submit any applications for admission or request official high school transcripts to be sent to post-secondary admissions offices, now is the time! See your counselor for assistance.

News from the District
Inclement Weather Reminder
The weather in Iowa can be unpredictable. If the weather requires us to delay the start of our school day, cancel school for the day, or dismiss school early, information will be sent to families through email, text, and voicemail. In addition, this information is posted to our social media sites and the District website.
Please remember that parents and guardians have the right to make the decision to keep their child home on any day they feel it is unsafe for their student to be in school because of weather conditions. If you believe the weather provides a sincere reason why you may have to keep your student at home, or take your student home when classes are scheduled to continue, you as a parent or guardian will simply need to contact our school office to let us know.
