Spring Conferences
During the month of March, teachers will contact parents to have live parent/teacher/student communication via phone, Zoom, or in person for students who meet any one of the following criteria:
LP on the Trimester 2 report card for an Academic/Course standard
LP on the Trimester 2 report card for a Work Habits standard
NS or LP on the Trimester 2 report card for an SEL standard
The purpose of any spring conference and/or communication is to develop a collaborative plan to help students make growth toward and reach grade-level standards expectations in identified areas for improvement.
If your contact information has changed recently, please call the school office to make sure we have your current contact information to schedule these conferences. It is important that we have the correct contact information.
Always remain in communication with your child’s teachers. If you have any questions, they are always there to answer any questions you may have.
We’re all in this TOGETHER. Your support is critical to your child’s academic success and is greatly appreciated.
Go Stallions!

Is Your Child IAR Ready?
We will be taking the Illinois Readiness Assessment (IAR) beginning the week of March 10th, and we need your support to make sure your child is prepared with all the materials needed to be successful. Please take a moment to make sure your child has the following:
Wired Headphones are needed. They will not be able to use wireless headphones for the assessment.
Dongle (adapter for iPad)
iPad/MacBook Charger. Please make sure their device is fully charged each day.
We appreciate your support.
5Essentials Survey
This is a reminder to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The survey closes March 28, 2025. A parent survey report will be generated if at least 20 percent of parents respond to the survey. Your participation in the parent survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement.
Teachers and 4th through 12th graders throughout Illinois are taking the teacher and student 5Essentials Survey. School-level 5Essentials reports will be generated if teachers and/or students meet their 50 percent response-rate thresholds.

Attendance
Attendance Matters: Tips for Building Positive Attendance Habits
In examining our student data from previous years, we consistently find that:
Students who miss 1 or 0 days of school per month throughout the school year are twice as likely to meet grade level expectations in reading and math than those who miss 2+ days of school per month.
Students who arrive on time to school also generally outperform those who are frequently tardy.
Without question, on-time attendance truly matters to student success. Knowing this, our goal is to help students and their families to build positive attendance habits this school year, and school administrators will be making an extra effort to monitor attendance more closely than ever. Please review this info sheet for some great tips to ensure your child is consistently in attendance and on time this school year.

Parking Lot Safety
When you are dropping off and picking up your child, please be considerate of our students, staff, and buses moving throughout the parking lot.
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
If you are dropping off or picking up your child, make sure you enter the parking lot at a slow and safe speed. Our staff is parking and walking through the parking lot to enter and exit the building.
Please continue forward through the car line and exit at the end with the direction of our staff. No student should be dropped off in the middle of the car line, it is unsafe to do so since there are moving vehicles.
Please DO NOT make U-turns at the entrance of the car line. This is an unsafe action due to vehicles exiting and staff walking in the parking lot.
Bus Dismissal
When all of our students are on the bus, at the direction of our staff, the buses will exit the parking lot first before any remaining car riders and staff. We ask that you be patient during this time and proceed in a safe manner and exit the parking lot at the direction of our staff. Please do not create multiple lines of traffic to exit the parking lot.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
Student Beverages
Students are permitted to carry a water bottle throughout the day, but it must contain water only. They will not be allowed to enter the building with coffee, energy drinks, and other beverages. They will be asked to finish or dispose of their non-water beverages before they enter their grade level door.
