Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens
Anna, and the other 122 children that came to Butterfly Day for free, were a direct result of Generous Givers supporting our educational programs. Their generosity makes this type of access and learning possible!
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of staff and volunteers, we will reopen on Thursday, October 3rd! We will have free admission through the 25th of October. Our hope is that our residents can find serenity here, reconnect, and begin to heal after the damaging effects of Hurricane Helene. We also hope you'll begin to restore through the healing and community-building opportunities on our calendar this month.
Engaging Events
Qigong: October 6
Restore your mind, body, and spirit through meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, and deep rhythmic breathing. Class will be located near the Roger Tetrault Building under the shade of an oak tree at 9:30 am. Donations will be shared between the instructor and The Gardens.
Children's Art Class: October 12
Join us for this children's art class inspired by the art of Charley Harper! All materials are provided. Members $5, Non-members $10. Please pay at the gift shop and meet under the pergola at 10am.
Calm after the Storm: October 15
Coping strategies for dealing with the emotional impact of stress. Presented by Dr. Patty O'Grady, this wellness seminar will teach specific tools and techniques to build coping strategies and resilience. Join us from 10-noon under the pergola.
Quilling in the Gardens: October 17
Practicing Mindfulness: October 19
Learn physical and mental practices to raise awareness of thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, and surroundings with PA Ashley Reid. Join us under the pergola at 1:30 pm.
Qigong: October 20
Learn this ancient Chinese art that helps to reduce anxiety, increase strength and flexibility, improve balance, and increase energy. Class will be located near the Roger Tetrault Building under the shade of an oak tree at 9:30 am. Donations will be shared between the instructor and The Gardens.
Painting on the Pergola: October 24
Join Vino Picasso for this all-inclusive painting experience of "moon pumpkins". Tickets: $55 for members and $65 for non-members.
Tail Waggin Tuesdays!
Bring along your leashed, furry friend every Tuesday for just a $5 donation!
Docent Trainings: October 7, 14, 21
Docents and Volunteers are the stewards to our sanctuary and integral for the guest experience. We hope you join us for one or more of the trainings under the pergola.

Taking Flight!
This rare yellow form (typically orange), was named 'Mandela's Gold' was named in honor of Nelson Mandela. It can be found blooming around our koi pond. Birds of Paradise make a striking, low-maintenance tropical plant that thrive in zones 10 and 11.

Hurricane Recovery
We are so excited to welcome you for free through the 25th of October! Please be patient with us as there are still many hurricane recovery projects that are underway. If you or your business can donate your time, we are in need of the following skilled trades: carpenters, skid steer driver, electrician, and pool care. We recognize that are are many needs in our community and are appreciative of all that our neighbors are doing for one another to rebuild.
