A MESSAGE FROM MRS. BOOTH!
We have had an exciting March is Reading Month! From our Guest Author, to the delightful Mystery Readers, to meeting our Goal...we have plenty to celebrate! Check out some fun pictures below from our Student-Led Assembly this week!
As we head into Spring Break, whether you are traveling or staying close to home we want you to Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate over this break! We believe school breaks should be just that - a brief reprieve from school responsibilities like homework, special projects, planning, and grading. It is a time to reconnect with loved ones without the stress of school work creeping in. We will be leading by example and there will be no Eagle Express next week due to Spring Break. Please look for the next Eagle Express on Friday, April 5. We hope each of you have a relaxing break full of family, fun and togetherness.
Stay well,
Katie Booth

STEAM CAREER FAIR WAS AMAZING!
Thank you so much to all our Parents who volunteered to share their STEAM career with our 2nd-5th graders. The presentations were so interesting and engaging!!
Check out our latest Classroom Close Up!
During our visit to Ms. Cameron's 5th grade class at Silver Springs Elementary for Classroom Close-Up, students engaged in a captivating lesson on water density. They conducted an engaging science experiment, exploring the density of various colored solutions. With four different salt solutions at hand, students enthusiastically tackled the challenge of layering them within a straw in precise order, aiming to prevent the colors from blending.

Happy Ramadan to all those celebrating!

LEADER IN ME FOCUS FOR THE MONTH - HABIT 5 SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND
We will focus on Habit 5 throughout the entire month of January.
The Learning At Home Activity is below. This will be in your child's Monday envelope, or you can click on the image below for a printable version.
March At Home Activity
This month’s Habit: Habit 5 Seek First to Understand
Activity: Listen Before You Talk!
Due Date: March 22
Habit 5– Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
What this means: Listen before you talk. In order to communicate effectively, we must first understand each other.
“I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings.”
“I try to see things from their viewpoints.”
“I listen to others without interrupting.”
“I am confident in voicing my ideas.”
“I look people in the eyes when talking.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Listen.
2. Put yourself in the other person’s place.
3. Notice a person’s body language, tone, and reflection in their voice.
Great Books for Habit #5-Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
Alejandro’s Gift by Richard E. Albert
The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown
Stellaluna by Janell Cannon
Jamaica’s Find by Juanita Havill

Northville Spring Recreational Baseball and Softball
NBSA spring recreational (house) baseball and softball registration is now officially open through March 20th, 2024. Please review some important information below about registration and league changes this year.
To help our commissioners streamline roster configurations, we are changing friend requests to only one friend this year. Commissioners will use school-attended and past team information while considering team formation.
NBSA has approved Recreational players to play at their current grade level if parents feel participants are capable and they meet grade level requirements. Note that this only pertains to a few players each year. Contact NBSA at info@nbsabaseball.org while registering.
Any registrations made after March 19th will incur a $25 late fee and players will only be accepted if roster spaces are available.
Opening day is right around the corner so please register soon as leagues fill up quickly!
Consider volunteering to coach a team. We provide all the training and equipment - no experience necessary.

Don’t Scrap the App!
The Michigan School Meals program supplements the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program, meaning that parents of students who would otherwise be eligible for free or reduced meals should continue to submit applications for free or reduced meals for their students. Even though meals will be free this year, it is vitally important that parents who meet, or believe they may meet, the free and reduced income guidelines, submit an application to ensure maximum benefits for their students and the District.
Some of these benefits include: athletics and activities discounts for student fees associated with participating in athletics and activities programs, SAT/ACT/AP test discounts for academic testing, college application discounts for college application fees, discounted internet access services, federal/state/local school funding for school budgets, Summer EBT.
