Message from Dr. Taylor-Cox
Field Day was so fun. Thank you to Mr. Epps, staff, and parent volunteers for making the day special for our students. “This is How We Do It” Night was a wonderful event. Participants showcased an array of delicious foods, engaging displays, beautiful clothing, and interesting artifacts. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and excitement as people exchanged stories and learned about each other's heritage, cultures, and traditions. Thank you to the PTA and all the participants.
Please complete the End of Year Survey for Forest Knolls Parents/Caregivers. Responses are confidential and will be used to improve our school's practices and policies. After you complete the survey you are invited to enter the Raffle to Win Chipotle Dinner delivered to your home.
Instrumental Music Concert
We are all looking forward to our spring instrumental music concert on Thursday, June 6th! There will be daytime assemblies as well as “the big event”—our evening concert. Here’s what’s exciting: Beginning orchestra will demonstrate their skills in bowing and pizzicato, beginning band will play in two-part harmony, advanced orchestra will play a theme and variations composed by Dr. Glabman, and advanced band will play some jazzed-up Bach.
Let’s hear it for our FKES band and orchestra students!!
Pride Flag
The 2023-2024 Rainbow Club requested the display of the Pride Flag so that every person knows they are welcome at Forest Knolls ES. The LGBTQ+ community has a special flag called the Pride Flag. It was created by the gay artist Gilbert Baker in 1977. The flag has different colors and is used to celebrate all the identities within the LGBTQ+ community. At Forest Knolls, we respect diversity, honor all identities, and provide a safe space for all in our community.
