• We are looking for a family representative for the Local Education Council (LEC). The LEC is an advisory board to the principal, overseeing the school improvement plan, consulting on the budget, and working with school staff and community members to ensure we are providing the best educational experience possible. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please let me know.

• To date, I have still not found an After School Program director for the coming year. If you know anyone who might be interested, please have them reach out to me. I will not be able to run the After School Program until this position is filled.

• Reminder to join us on Friday, August 23rd, for the PTO's annual Back To School Ice Cream Social. This is a great time to come and celebrate the start of a new school year. You'll have the chance to meet some new friends and staff members and reconnect with some old ones. Plus, who doesn't love free ice cream?? The social will run from 5:00-6:00 pm. I hope to see you there!

• The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 28th for grades K-6. School begins at 8:30 with our First Day Celebration! On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week, dismissal will be at 12:30. From 1:00-3:30, teachers will be holding intake conferences with any families that would like to participate. This provides the time for families and teachers to meet each other, share their hopes for the year, and get to know each other a bit. This home/school partnership is critical to supporting students throughout the year. If you are interested in participating in a conference, please contact Sandy White in the front office, unless you have heard directly from your child(ren)'s teacher.

• The start to preschool follows a slightly different schedule. Wednesday, August 28th is set aside for home visits. Ms. Chmura will be in touch with families to schedule those. On Thursday, there will be a staggered schedule with half of the class coming from 8:30-10 and the other half attending from 10:00-11:30. Friday will start the regular preschool schedule.

The first PTO fundraiser is our annual fall mum sale. If you'd like to order, please fill out the form below. We will be taking orders through September 18th, pick-up will be at Colrain Central School on September 25th!

The next PTO meeting is Thursday, Sept. 12th at 3:30 at the school. Come help plan some exciting events for the year.
