Dear Farnham Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I look forward to seeing all of our Falcons and hearing about their summer adventures. I was so fortunate to be able to spend some quality time with a close friend back East this summer. I hope you had moments of joy in your time away from Farnham and that everyone is well rested and ready to get back to learning.
Our teachers are busy preparing their classrooms for the new school year! The Construction Crews and Custodial Team have worked tirelessly over the summer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our students. A BIG thank you to Mr. Ulises and Mr. Jamie, who have made our classrooms shine.
One of the core strengths of Farnham School is its solid home-school partnership. Our Home and School Club contributes positively to our school culture and supports our students, staff, and families. And it’s a lot of fun as well! If you are already active, I thank you for your continued support! If you are new to Farnham or you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, I look forward to having you join this group of amazing volunteers. Your child’s teacher is another important source of volunteer opportunities. There is a job for everyone – big or small!
Class lists will be posted on Farnham’s webpage and in front of the Farnham office at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13th. Students will be identified on the class list by their student number. You will receive an email from the District Office this Friday, August 9th, with your child’s student number. If you have not received your child’s student number by Tuesday, August 13th, please contact the school office at 408-377-3321.

Please keep in mind that during the first two weeks of school, our enrollment is in a transition period, and there may be changes to class assignments as student enrollment stabilizes. If changes are necessary, we will do our very best to consider the needs of individual students. No matter which teacher your child is placed with this year, you can be assured that they will have a teacher who will provide them with an excellent educational experience and many opportunities to extend their learning based on individual abilities, interests, and achievements.
Farnham is a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. This is a comprehensive behavioral plan that empowers all children to make positive choices about their own behavior. One of the things that you will see throughout the campus and in each classroom are the three expectations for all students and adults at Farnham… the Farnham 3 Personal Standards:
Solve Problems
Make Good Decisions
Show Respect
Whenever an opportunity arises to problem solve with a student, we approach the problem through the “lens” of our Farnham 3 Personal Standards. I hope you will discuss these expectations regularly with your child to help reinforce what he/she is learning at school.
Your child’s first day of school is Thursday, August 15th. The school day for all students begins at 8:15 a.m. Please see the above information for the dismissal times. Please read the pick-up and drop-off procedures carefully. They, too, have not changed, but (as always) we need your help implementing these procedures to provide the safest possible environment for all of Farnham’s students. We are a busy, full school, and congestion on Woodard Road, where we drop off and pick up our students, is an ongoing challenge with which we need your help.
Campus safety is an ongoing top priority for the district and our school. Access to the campus during the school day is available only through the school office, where we will request that you sign in and get a badge if you are on the school grounds. Gates will be open 10 minutes before the start of the school day when supervision will be available in the classrooms. At dismissal, the teachers will escort students to the front of the school. Thank you for waiting outside the gates so we can maximize your child’s learning time.
I hope all of you will attend our Back-To-School Night on Thursday, August 29th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. (3rd - 5th Grade) and 6:35 p.m. (TK - 2nd Grade). This is an important opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and continue to build the vital home-school partnership that drives student success.
I am looking forward to a great year with all of you!
Be well,
Amy O’Hehir
Principal
