Welcome Back Walker Families!
We had an amazing start to the 24-25 school year at Walker Elementary. We welcomed many new faces, established expectations and routines, and celebrated our successes!
Every two weeks, I will publish a community newsletter. Please read through this letter carefully as it has information about upcoming events, policies and procedures, as well as pictures of previous celebrations and events. As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Just reminder our school office is open from 7:30 AM- 3:15 PM (Monday-Friday).
Have a wonderful weekend!

Student Vehicle Drop-Off Procedures
In an effort to increase safety at Walker Elementary School, with cooperation with the Bedford Park Police Department and the Village of Bedford Park, we will be implementing a student drop-off line for all families traveling by vehicles. This drop-off line will be monitored by school personnel, and supported by the Bedford Park Police Department. This line will be available from 7:25 AM to 7:50 AM and is located at 66th place, adjacent to Walker Elementary School. When dropping off students, please proceed to marked area. Drivers will remain in their vehicle, and students will exit out the passenger side of the vehicle. Students will be assisted by school personnel. All families wishing to walk their students to the school, please park your vehicle in the public parking area located on 67h Street in front of the Swanson Center.. Parking on residential streets is prohibited and will be strictly enforced by the Bedford Park Police Department. Please see below for detailed map and instructions. Notes From Our Nurse
Welcome back Walker families and a big hello to those who began attending Walker for the first time! My name is Bianca Vazquez and I will be your child’s school nurse for the 24- year. Here are a few announcements to start the year on a great note.
First, please take a look at the attached letter for parents. This will explain in detail when to keep your student home due to illness and the procedures to follow when doing so.
Second, all kindergarten students as well as new students entering the district from out of state should have an updated Illinois physical with immunizations, dental and eye exam on file. This is a state law. Students without a physical and/or immunizations will be excluded beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Please turn in these items as soon as possible. If you have not been notified, then please disregard.
Lastly, families within the district are welcome to come to our Loyola Mobile Health Unit for a physical and/or immunizations as well as other services. This event will be held Sep 18th and Oct 8th at Graves/Heritage Middle School. Review the attachment to see if your student is eligible and call our main office to schedule an appointment.
Wishing you all a safe, fun and healthy school year! Please call Walker’s main office with any questions,
708-458-7150.
Your cooperation and support is greatly appreciated!
