Manley's Message
I was so proud of our third, fourth and fifth graders this week! They worked extremely hard on their STAAR Reading tests. While these tests are a snapshot on one day of a student's life, and do not define them, I appreciated the effort they put in and determination to "show what they know."
Testing Schedule:
April 17- STAAR Science (5th grade only)
April 24- STAAR Math
Our campus will be closed to all lunch visitors on these testing days because schedules can be changed due to testing. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Below there is an invitation for our military connected families. April is the Month of the Military Child and we will use this month to highlight these students and families for their perseverance, adaptability, and resilience. We appreciate these students and families.
If you, or anyone you know, have an incoming Kindergartener for next year, please share the information with them below about a Kindergarten Welcome on May 6.
Have a wonderful weekend!

SAIL (Summer Adventures in Learning), our summer elementary program, is now open for all students across the district. SAIL will consist of math, reading, and 2 enrichments for current Kinder-4th grade. 5th grade will consist of math, reading, science, and 1 enrichment. We will also have a specific GT strand for k-5. If you have any questions, reach out to Tammie Baggerly, our BISD SAIL Summer Principal. Here is the SAIL registration link and the deadline to register for SAIL will be May 7th.
We are excited to announce the BISD 2023 Elementary Summer Camp opportunities. Our Summer Program website is live and has all the information you will need. The camps will be located at Chisholm Trail Elementary from 1:00-4:00. Here are the registrations for each camp:
- Humanities Camp, June 10-13
- STEM Camp, June 3-6
Families of returning students entering grades three, six, and nine (3rd, 6th, and 9th) for the 2024-25 school year will be required to provide proof of residency to verify their home address during the Returning Student Verification process.
Any students new to Belton ISD and incoming Kindergarteners will also provide proof of residency to verify their home address.
Proof of residency is a copy of a current utility bill (electricity, gas, water) dated within the last 30 days showing name, current address, and date; a current lease (for 30 days until a utility bill is available); if you have recently purchased your home, a copy of the closing papers will suffice until a utility bill is available; or a notarized copy of the BISD Residency Verification affidavit, along with a valid Proof of Residency in the homeowner/renters name. If you are living in Belton ISD attendance boundaries, but cannot provide one of the above forms of documentation, please contact the campus registrar for individual assistance.
An electronic copy of eligible documents may be uploaded into Skyward when you complete your Returning Student Verification.
All returning students need to be verified in our system! It helps us plan for the 24-25 school year. Start the process here: https://www.bisd.net/domain/200

Important Reminders
STUDENT DRESS CODE REMINDERS - Please make sure you are sending students to school in well fitting and season appropriate clothing. We want to remind families that shorts, skirts and tops must be an appropriate length, students stomachs should be covered, and sleveless top straps be at least the width of a student ID. Please reference our BISD Student Handbook for the full dress code policy.
BIRTHDAY TREATS AND FAVOR BAGS - Birthday treats MUST be store bought items. All birthday treats must be coordinated with your child's teacher. Please email them or send a Remind message.
DISMISSAL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES - Please make sure you call our front office at 254-316-5300 no later than 2:00 p.m. for any dismissal transportation changes for your student. We will get a note down to your student's teacher to let them know of the change. Sometimes Teachers miss notes in backpacks or remind messages about dismissal changes so it is very important to notify the front office so that they can communicate those changes.
