NPHS Football Receives CIF/Calif. Army National Guard Team of the Month Honor
Congratulations to the Newbury Park High School Football Team on being recognized as the September CIF/California Army National Guard Team of the Month. Under Friday Night Lights, Principal Steve Lepire and Coach Joe Smigiel were recently presented with the award from two members of the Army National Guard.
The NPHS football team was selected for their achievements on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Towards the end of each summer, the team helps James Storehouse collect school supplies and pass out filled backpacks to the foster children in the area. In the spring they are active contributors to the county Special Olympics event. Throughout the year they will hold free clinics for youth to work on different skills. In the classroom, they set examples by sitting in the front of the class, contributing to discussions, completing assignments and being leaders in group activities. It is part of the culture of NPHS that if you are wearing the team uniform, you are representing not only your family and yourself, but the school and football program. NPHS football is loyal to their community, respecting and serving others, all while trying to become better people. WE ARE ONE: one team, one family, one community.
Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
Congratulations to our 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists!
These academically talented high school seniors were publicly recognized at last week's Board of Education meeting and have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered this spring.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships.
Our Ladera STARS Academy is building the next generation of conservation leaders through their hands-on STEAM learning. The Academy's second grade scholars were recently the first EVER to visit the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing for a field trip to learn, explore and see the project up close.
