Reminders and Updates from Dr. Bonneau
Happy Friday, Bronco Nation! Please scroll down to see all of the amazing celebrations we have this week!
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! If you you would like to send a teacher a "Glow Up" message, please do! We have some amazing teachers on campus and want them to know how we feel!
Spring Reminders:
- Legacy is a closed campus for lunch. Students who leave campus without permission will have consequences when they return to campus.
- All students must enter the building through an Evolv monitored door. There is an Evolv machine at the front entrance open throughout the school day. There is also a machine at the back of the cafeteria that is open before school, for senior late arrival, and for Ben Barber return.
- Students are not to open exterior doors for anyone and let them in. If a student opens a door and lets anyone in, there will be consequences for the student that opened the door AND for the student entering through a non-monitored entrance.
- MISD dress code requires shorts, skirts, skorts, dresses, etc. to reach mid-thigh for all students.
- Students and staff must wear their school ID out and visible while in the building during the school day.
Legacy Food Pantry: parents, we are working to create a food pantry stocked with food a toiletries to help students and families in need of support. If you or a family you know is in need of help, please complete this form.
Senior Updates: Lots of new & important information for seniors! Scroll to the Class of 2024 section below to see them all. Click here to see a running list of all emails Mrs. Monajami sends. (feel free to bookmark it, check it regularly, and share it with others!)
Fines and Fees: We have many students that have outstanding fines and fees. These can be paid through Skyward or through the Bookkeeper on campus. If you are a senior, you will not be able to purchase prom tickets or pick up you graduation tickets until all of your fines and fees have been cleared. If you need to work out a payment plan, please see the bookkeeper.
Let's CELEBRATE! If you have had an experience with someone at Legacy and want to give them a "shout out", please send me their name and a brief explanation. We would love to make someone's day! My email address is stephaniebonneau@misdmail.org.

Senior Class News & Updates
FAFSA Submissions
Submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a graduation requirement in the state of Texas.
FAFSA opened on 12/30/2023. In the past, MISD has received numerous reports with FAFSA submissions at this point in the year. Due to the many issues with FAFSA this year, MISD has not received a single report. This means that even if you submitted your FAFSA on January 1st, we do not have a record of your submission.
Until we receive your proof or opt-out, your senior is not eligible for graduation and will not be able to collect their graduation tickets. Please choose an option below to meet requirements:
Option 1:
Forward your senior’s counselor the official email from FAFSA stating your application has been successfully processed. To submit your FAFSA, click here.

Chatrina Forte: P-SQ - danavorsino@misdmail.org

Option 2:
Submit the FAFSA Opt Out Form – If you would like to go ahead and take care of this graduation requirement but have not submitted your FAFSA or do not plan to submit the FAFSA, you may turn in the Financial Aid Application Opt-Out Form (Spanish version). The good news is that even if you submit the opt-out form, you are still able to fill out the FAFSA later!
Be sure to provide proof of successful FAFSA processing or the completed opt-out form by May 14th, so your senior can pick up their graduation tickets on May 15th.

Is your senior headed into the military?
Mansfield ISD is organizing an event to honor our students who have chosen to serve our country after graduation through enlistment or appointment. The event will be held Wednesday, May 15th at the MISD Center for Performing Arts.
Please complete the link below if you have enlisted or are planning on enlisting after graduation.
FAFSA application now open!
The FAFSA application is now open! The state of Texas now requires seniors to complete the FAFSA or formally opt out. This is a graduation requirement. If you are planning to attend college, you should complete the FAFSA. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for “free” money, many colleges require the FAFSA to be completed and use it when considering students for scholarships.
The new FAFSA site has had several technological issues - please keep trying!
