Chester Elementary School

A few things for you this week:

1. There will be an academic awards assembly next Thursday, 3/20, at 8:30 in the gym. I hope you can be there to help celebrate our student's academic efforts.
2. If you are not aware of it, parents are now required to be fingerprinted in order to transport other students in their vehicles. This is effective immediately. This is a new requirement from PUSD's insurance company. Knowing what an inconvenience it can be to meet this requirement, we are providing an opportunity for free fingerprinting on the CES campus. This is happening on Wednesday, March 26th, from 10:00-2:30. Are you interested in participating? Please contact Mrs. Peterson (ext. 1201) or Mrs. Gerbatz (ext. 1202) at 258-3194 if you would like to schedule an appointment or get more details. Thank you in advance! We are very grateful for our parent drivers. FYI: once a parent is fingerprinted, there is no requirement to do it again in the future.
3. Chester Friends of the Library - This amazing community organization recently donated $4,000 to the staff and students at CES. $2,000 will go to increasing and updating the non-fiction section of our library and the other $2,000 will go to our classroom teachers for the purpose of increasing our classroom libraries. Thank you!
4. School will be in session on Friday, March 21. In case you missed the Parent Square message that went out previously, here it is: Due to the need to call a snow day yesterday (3/13), CES will be in session on Friday, March 21, 2025. It has been on the PUSD Instructional Calendar as a "Built-In Closure Make-Up Day" in the event that we needed to make up a school day, and we find ourselves needing to do so.
