From the Principal!
May is here and we are full steam ahead! There are exciting events happening almost every day this month and this week was no different. Our musical theatre students put on two incredible performances of "Annie Kids" for our parents and students. One Thursday our GATE students had their Showcase event and today our Pre-K - 2nd grade students had their Bike Rodeo. Today is also School Lunch Hero Day and we are so grateful for our incredible cafeteria staff. They are the first to arrive to campus each day to start preparing meals for our students and give genuine care to each and every one of them. Thank you, Ladies! Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! There is information in the newsletter about how our families can help to show our wonderful teachers the love and appreciation they deserve! We look forward to celebrating them all week long!
I personally want to thank you all for the love, support, and kind words. Not only this week, but all year long. I enjoyed being able to spend Principal's Day with our own Principal for the Day, Gage Gomez. This weekend is the HEB Excellence in Education Finalist Event and you all have been so kind and encouraging. It truly means a lot, and I hope to represent you well.
Please read through this week's newsletter for important dates, information, and exciting things happening around campus! As always, if we can help in any way, then please don't hesitate to reach out to our front office. Have a wonderful and restful weekend!

Early Act Club
In the news. . . . .
The Early Act celebrated with an end of year celebration on Monday, April 14. We will head to the "Center" on Friday, May 16, to meet the Noon Rotary Club members. Permission slips will be coming out next week. Please return by May 12th.
The plastic bag competition ended on April 4th. I do not know how we placed among other central Texas schools. I do know that we collected over 4.450 plastic bags. Fabra will continue to be a collection site for plastic bags. You can drop your plastic bags in the collection bins that are in the front foyer.
Kendall County Women's Shelter
We will be collecting new and used shoes for the Kendall County Women's Shelter until the last week of school. Clean out your closets and let the shoes that your toes are busting out bring comfort to someone else.

LOST OR DAMAGED BOOKS: PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF LIBRARY BOOKS IF YOU GO OUT OF TOWN.
If your child damages a book, please have them bring it to me. I can fix a lot of things. Make sure they bring the damaged book into the library and show it to me, and we can figure out what to do about it. I emphasize to the students that I will never be mad at them over a book.
· If a book is lost, you have some options
· You can pay the replacement cost. I will send home an overdue notice with the amount on it.
§ We take cash- try to have the exact amount as I don't often have change.
§ We take checks made out to Fabra Elementary.
§ You can also pay using a credit card on RevTrak which you can find on our website.
· You can purchase a replacement that is used as long as it is a HARD COVER and in good or better shape.
