Dodgeland Student Association, a group of students who want to make the middle school a better place, recently sponsored a hat day for students. Any students who brought in a non-perishable food item could wear a hat during the day. The students collected 40 canned goods and donated them to The Gathering Source. Pictured are DSA members Katelyn Draeger, Brylee Klueger, Lucy Kreuziger, Emily Barlow, Madyson Sarac, and Baylee Hilby.
Academic Decathlon
The Dodgeland High School Academic Decathlon team ended their long season with a third place finish in division 4 at the state competition in Green Bay at the end of March. For those of you unfamiliar with Decathlon, the students study a different theme every year, this year being Technology and the Humanities. The students are tested in seven different areas (art, music, science, math, literature, economics, social science) as they are related to the theme. They also have to write 3 essays, read a book and give two speeches and interviews related to the theme. At the start of the season in September, there were over 100 different teams and when it was all said and done, Dodgeland finished 12th overall in all divisions and received a 3rd place trophy in Division 4. Along with a team trophy there were medals awarded. Dani Casperson received a bronze medal in the Arts category, Mia Simmons received a silver in speech and Morgana Cronesgrove received an award for being the highest scorer on the team.

Academic Pentathlon
The Middle School Pentathlon team is still competing, with Nationals being held online at the end of May. The Pentathlon competition is similar to the Decathlon but with fewer events. The team competes against other teams across the country. The regional competitions have just been completed and in team rankings Dodgeland is currently in 5th place out of 23 teams! There were also several medals won by the team, Trezdon Damrow received 4 medals; 3 silvers in literature, science, and overall and a gold medal in math. Sophia Muth received silver in art, Jaxon Sikora received a bronze in science, Brihanna Moz, silver in science, Samantha Schwandt, silver in science. The team is hoping that there are more medals and a team trophy coming their way.
