From the Principal
Dear Steele families,
As part of our Steele Vision, we are excited to announce our school-wide celebration of Holi, an ancient Indian spring festival. This event aligns with our commitment to embracing diversity, celebrating all cultures, and ensuring everyone feels safe, seen, and welcome in our community. Holi (pronounced "holy") is a vibrant festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, love and unity, and the triumph of good over evil. Originally a Hindu religious festival in North India, Holi's joyful spirit has spread globally, embracing people of all backgrounds.
Our school celebration will take place on Friday, March 14, at 2:50 p.m. on the school field. In preparation for this event, students will learn about Holi in their classrooms and create a "friendship garden" to symbolize the coming together of friends and family during this festive time.
We kindly ask that you dress your child in clothes suitable for painting (white works best) and discuss safe ways to celebrate and spread the colored powder. We invite all Steele community members to join us in welcoming spring and honoring our diverse cultures through this joyful celebration. You can learn more about it here. Let's come together to create a colorful, unified, and joyful experience for our entire school community!
