FROM THE DESK OF DR. HERRING
February 5, 2025
Dear Ardmore Family,
We are proud to share that Ardmore has been recognized by Dr. Lassiter, Dr. Williams, and Area 1 office for our outstanding achievements on the Maryland Report Card. This school year, Ardmore earned a star for our impressive performance on the 2024 MCAP scores.
This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire Ardmore community, parents, students, and staff alike. Your commitment to excellence and our ongoing partnership has been crucial to our success. Together, we will continue to strive for greatness and support our students in their educational journeys. Thank you for being an integral part of the Ardmore family!
In service to our scholars,
Melreta Herring, Principal
Brenda Holmes, Assistant Principal
Over the past few weeks, heightened news coverage and social media rumors have caused concern for many in our community, particularly around changes to national immigration policies. As your Superintendent, I want to reassure you of our unwavering commitment to supporting our diverse community and keeping all students in school.
Schools are vital to students' academic, social, and emotional well-being. At this time, we have no indication that ICE agents are present at or stationed near our schools, nor have they been allowed on our campuses. However, we are prepared. Our PGCPS Immigration Task Force continues to provide rapid response guidance to principals and staff, ensuring strict protocols are in place to prevent unauthorized access to our schools.
We are also working closely with state and local partners to stay informed, and our local government leaders remain steadfast in their support of protections for all students and families. Our schools remain safe spaces where students can learn and grow.
To ensure timely communication, please update your emergency contacts through ParentVUE or your child’s school. Visit www.pgcps.org/immigration for FAQs, resources, and partner agency support. Together, we will continue to provide a safe, inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Thank you for your trust, partnership, and commitment to keeping students on the path to success.
Sincerely,
Millard House II
Superintendent
Atentamente,
Millard House II
Superintendente

Immunizations
All children by law must have the required State of Maryland immunizations in order to attend school. Parents are responsible for providing proof of immunizations to the school.
If your child receives an Immunization Exclusion Letter this school year, please contact your child’s healthcare provider to make sure your child is up to date with immunizations. Please provide the updated immunization record to the School Nurse. If not provided, your child will not be able to attend school effective the date stated on the Immunization Exclusion Letter. If your child doctor’s appointment date falls after the exclusion date on the Immunization Exclusion Letter, your child will still be excluded from school. If you have any questions please contact me at rayvenia.farrow@pgcps.org or (240) 696-8788.
