Students honored at 4H Regional Discovery Challenge
Earlier this month Eastside Elementary School students Allison Owens, Eliza Zook, Brecken Billin, and Austin Nealis (not pictured) participated in the 4H Regional Discovery Challenge at Purdue Polytechnic Anderson. These students wrote and delivered a five minute speech that was accompanied by a visual presentation they created. Eliza and Brecken both took second place in their divisions, and Eliza won second place overall. Congratulations to these incredible students!
2025 College & Career Fair
Hundreds of students and job seekers gathered at Anderson High School yesterday evening for Madison County's largest College and Career Fair! Thank you to the Anderson/District 26 Career Center, Anderson High School, the Madison County Chamber, and all of our partner organizations, colleges, and employers for coming together to make this event possible!
Students celebrate Black history at Anderson Elementary
Second grade students at Anderson Elementary School performed in an annual Black history event that included songs, dance and poetry. The program on Friday, February 28th was named “Celebrating a Rich History,” with the students recalling and learning about several pioneers in Black history. Valley Grove hosts Black Professionals Day
Donald Martin was a self-described “class clown” during his elementary school days. He said his desire for acceptance was part of his approach to lightening the mood in a variety of situations. D26 students participate in state FCCLA competition
Students in Ms. Millen's Human Services class who are part of the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) club competed at the state competition earlier this month in Muncie. They came home with 4 bronze medals and 1 silver medal! Not only did students compete in 5 projects, they also participated in many leadership workshops, networked with organizations, and made connections with peers all across the state of Indiana.
Fourth Annual ACS Teacher Job Fair
Earlier this week we held our Fourth Annual Teacher Job Fair at Anderson High School. We had more than 30 teacher candidates interview for open positions next school year. Mr. Landes named Teacher / Educator of the Year
Our very own Mr. Alan Landes was named the 2025 Best of Madison County Teacher / Educator of the Year by The Herald Bulletin! Mr. Landes is a 1986 graduate of Madison Heights High School. In 2001 he returned to the building where he went to school to be a Spanish teacher at Anderson High School. In 2020 he moved to the building’s administration team. Congratulations to Mr. Landes on this well deserved recognition!
ACS teachers express concern over federal, state initiatives
As buses rolled into the Anderson High School parking lot on Tuesday, March 4th, a group of teachers gathered around the flagpole near the building’s main entrance. Huddled against a damp, chilly wind, they listened as Randy Harrison, president of the Anderson Federation of Teachers Local 519, provided updates on legislation being considered in the Indiana General Assembly that would require school board candidates to be nominated in primaries...more.
New Student Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! New student enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is right around the corner! We will be enrolling new Kindergarten students on April 9th and new Preschool students on April 22nd. Registration for returning students will be held on April 29th at Anderson High School.
