Message From Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD.
Today was a great day for a run! Congrats to Village Elementary families and staff on another fun jogathon. PTO President Lindsey Colburn and her team did an amazing job organizing this annual fundraiser, and Principal Kuhns brought the energy - putting in the miles jogging with all grade levels during the entire event!
If you haven’t checked out our Newsroom lately, there are some great student stories featured there. Shout out to CoSA Digital Arts teacher Anna Woerman and Village first grade teacher Brittany Lindquist on a great collaboration project that is headed to the San Diego Museum of Art soon. The story and link to the YouTube video are on the Newsroom page.
We are very fortunate in our district to have the support of many community partners. This week Safe Harbor Coronado was instrumental in bringing the impactful Drug Prevention program to CMS. Thank you to Safe Harbor and the dozens of community volunteers for supporting this program for our students, and to staff from Sacred Heart Parish school for bringing their 6th graders to CMS to be part of the event.
If you are looking for some fun family entertainment, don’t miss the CMS Advanced Performing Arts presentation of Something Rotten! Jr. This fun, energetic show is playing tonight at 6pm and tomorrow (Saturday) at 2pm at the Coronado Performing Arts Center at CHS. You can purchase tickets here.
Have a great weekend,

As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Stacy Morrissey: A huge shout out to Stacy for going above and beyond inputting information into virtual grading sheets. Their dedication, attention to detail, and time that it took to do this task has streamlined the grading process, making it more efficient and user friendly for teachers. Stacy's hard work has not gone unnoticed, and I truly appreciate their time and effort they put into making this grading system a success in my classroom-Thank you!!
- Megan Battle: I want to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr.Battle for their outstanding leadership in Coordinating and facilitating committees that are driving meaningful change in our district. Their dedication, vision, and ability to bring people together have been instrumental in shaping initiatives that will positively impact our students, staff, and community. Your hard work and commitment to excellence are truly making a difference-thank you for all that you do!
- Alexia Palacios-Peters: An enormous "Thank you" to our School Board President, Alexia Palacio-Peters, for bringing joy and excitement to 2nd graders by visiting our class dressed as a dinosaur. Making dinosaur fossils paired with our reading about dinosaur bones discovery is fun, but to make them with a dinosaur was top tier enjoyment for all. Plus, Alexia brought a dinosaur dressed side-kick who had lots of fun reading and hanging out with our students, too. Not only is Alexia a dedicated leader in our district, but also a parent who goes the extra mile to make learning fun. Her enthusiasm and commitment to our students makes a lasting impact, and I truly appreciate all that you do for our schools and community.
