Early Middle College Information (Freshman)
Due to the snow day, our meeting was shared virtually via email. Families interested in the Early Middle College (EMC) program can now access all necessary resources online:

Snowcoming Dance 2024: Get Ready for a Frozen Adventure!
Mark your calendars! The Snowcoming Dance is happening on Saturday, February 8, from 7–10 p.m. This year’s theme is Frozen, get ready for a magical evening!
Tickets: $15.00
Ticket Sales: January 22 – February 5 during both lunches

Join Study Table
Students can drop in for tutoring on any subject, with no sign-up needed! Study tables are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:25 to 3:30 p.m. This is a great time to study, finish homework, or makeup tests and quizzes (if arranged with a teacher).
Transportation is available. Please email Ms. Schultz or Mrs. Teuissen if you need bus transportation.

Explore Career Pathways at the KCTC Open House
What: Kent Career Tech Center (KCTC) Open House
When: February 5 & 6 | 5–7 p.m.
Who: Open to the community!
Where: 1655 East Beltline NE & 1800 Leffingwell NE, Grand Rapids
This is a great opportunity for students to explore unique learning experiences and career-focused programs available during their junior and senior years. Planning ahead now can help set students up for future success!
At the open house, visitors can:
- Tour high-tech labs and classrooms
- Meet students and instructors
- Learn about nearly 30 career programs in fields like Health Careers, Automotive, Hospitality, IT, Engineering, Agriscience, Teacher Academy, and more
- Discover hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to earn college credit and industry certifications
The Advanced Manufacturing space will also showcase welding, precision machining, engineering, and mechatronics programs.
