Estimada IALAS familia,
As 2024 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strides we have made as a community committed to equity, leadership, and excellence in education. This month, let us celebrate the spirit of togetherness that fuels our shared mission while preparing for an exciting year ahead.
I am excited to invite you to our Winter Educational Conclave, taking place on Saturday, January 18, 2025. This year’s theme, "Unidos: Leading Together for Equity and Empowerment," reflects our shared commitment to collaboration, innovation, and transformative action in education.

Unidos in Advocacy: Shaping Policy for Educational Equity
Share innovative strategies, research, or success stories that highlight how educators and leaders are advocating for policies that address the needs of Latino communities. These sessions will explore the impact of responsive, informed policy-making in promoting equity across schools and districts.Unidos in Leadership: Building Capacity for Educators
Showcase best practices, programs, or leadership frameworks that empower educators and administrators. Proposals should focus on cultivating leadership, fostering cultural responsiveness, and building capacity within schools and communities.Unidos for Student Success: Empowering the Next Generation
Present your work in creating high-quality learning opportunities for Latino students. We welcome proposals that explore innovative approaches to teaching, student empowerment, and collaborative efforts that drive equity and success for all learners.
As we prepare for this exciting event, I want to thank you for your dedication and contributions throughout the year. Let’s close 2024 with orgullo in what we have accomplished and step into 2025 with energy and determination to lead together for equity and empowerment.

The Illinois Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (IALAS) invites you to submit a proposal for our upcoming conference, themed "Unidos: Leading Together for Equity and Empowerment." Join us in advancing the mission of promoting Latino leadership, shaping equitable policies, and empowering all students. We encourage proposals aligned with the following sub-themes: Unidos in Advocacy: Shaping Policy for Educational Equity, Unidos in Leadership: Building Capacity for Educators, and Unidos for Student Success: Empowering the Next Generation.
Present your work in creating high-quality learning opportunities for Latino students. We welcome proposals that explore innovative approaches to teaching, student empowerment, and collaborative efforts that drive equity and success for all earners.

Our Educational Conclave will take place on January 18, 2025 from 9:00am-4:00 p.m. We will host a variety of (45-minute) professional development sessions along with Principal, Directors and District Office, and Superintendent panels. We will also be hearing from our amazing sponsors! We hope you can come share how you have been ensuring the social emotional health in your districts!
Proposals should inspire, engage, and provide actionable strategies for attendees to implement in their schools and districts. Let’s come together to share our collective knowledge and the Power of Us!
