Dear Cold Spring Elementary School Community,
It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of your new principal, Ms. Stephanie Van Winkle, who will be assuming her new role in July. Ms. Van Winkle brings a wealth of experience, passion and dedication to Cold Spring. She comes to us with an impressive background in education and counseling, spanning over 15 years of teaching and counseling experience.
Throughout her career, Ms. Van Winkle has shown an unwavering dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our students and fostering a supportive learning environment. Her experience as a school adjustment counselor has equipped her with valuable skills in providing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic support to students at risk.
Stephanie's educational background includes a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Education and Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College, along with additional postgraduate studies in principal licensure and leadership and management. Her commitment to ongoing professional development reflects her dedication to excellence in educational leadership.
During her tenure as interim principal of Cold Spring, Ms. Van Winkle demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, overseeing various administrative responsibilities, including staff hiring, curriculum development, testing administration, and parent engagement initiatives. She has cultivated a collaborative and inclusive school culture, where open communication and trust are prioritized among teachers, staff, students, parents, and district leadership.
Ms. Van Winkle's vision for Cold Spring Elementary School aligns with our goals of academic excellence, student well-being, and community engagement. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
