The Fowler Weekly

Dear Fowler Families,

We continue to notice parents pulling into the front ADA parking spaces and use them as waiting areas for student pick up. We have a very small parking lot, and I am sorry we cannot accommodate more parking. That said, we cannot have folks park in the ADA spaces unless there is an ADA need. We have parents and community members who do need those spaces every day at a variety of hours, so please help us by keeping those spaces free for those in need.

Due to construction and prep work that has been done in our commons space, we are shifting the way we do our 8th grade promotion event this year. Instead of doing a student only ceremony during the school day, we will be hosting the promotion event at Tigard High School in the small gym on Wednesday, June 12th at 6:00 PM. We hope this shift works well and it does allow families to attend the event. It will be a short acknowledgement of the students that will accompany a quick video as well. We will have a few more details in upcoming weeks, but wanted to put this on your radar.

This week Honor Roll Certificates and Attendance Award Certificates were handed out in Morning Meetings.

Please join us in congratulating the following students for their hard work Quarter 3! All of the students listed below made the Fowler Middle School Honor Roll by earning a 3.5GPA, or higher, for the third quarter. Well done, Falcons!

Attend today, achieve tomorrow. Attendance matters from the first day of school until the last day. Congratulations to these students who were in attendance at least 95% of Quarter 3. Way to go, Falcons!

We have our first ASA Volleyball Jamboree this week. And…. our ASA Cheer Squad will be there, too! The Jamboree is scheduled from 3:30-5:00pm. Families are welcome to watch. Please enter through the Gym Entrance. Note: Students may only stay to watch if they are with their parents. Students WILL need a ride home at 5:00pm, as there are no buses that run that late.

First, thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our Teacher Appreciation Surprise! That said, we only have 44 entries. Please encourage your student to complete the form Monday or Tuesday this week. For parents, please have the form completed by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 7.

It’s easy, complete this google form in order to recognize teachers with a Fowler Fist Bump(s). We’re turning the table and letting them be the givers instead of receivers! We will give them to the teachers on Friday, May 10. We appreciate your help and are hopeful that students will have fun recognizing their teachers!

Tuesday, May 14

This week Tigard High School sports will be visiting our lunches in order to encourage your student to get involved in their teams next year! Several fall sports hold camps this spring. Encourage your student to check it out the opportunities available to them.

The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is June 12! We look forward to celebrating our 8th graders moving on to High School. We will host this Celebration at Tigard High School from 6-7pm on Wednesday, June 12. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend this Celebration, we do ask that you limit attendees to immediate family members.

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their student’s photo. We have many to go! We would love to get a picture of your student as a younger version of themselves. (A baby picture, or anything before 8th grade, we’re not picky!)

• There will be a slideshow for the 8th Grade Celebration, and we would like to be able to include both a current photo and a young photo of each student.

• If you would like to submit a current picture for us to use other than their school photo, because so many of them have changed significantly since the beginning of the year, you are welcome to do so. We would prefer not to use “selfies” for the slideshow.

• Please send pictures to fowleroffice@ttsd.k12.or.us along with your students full name and/or ID number.
