VFW National Anthem singing contest for ages K-12. Submit a video. Full details can be found at Get Excited for the Red, White, and Blue Details and Entry Form. All entries must include a completed Entry Form. Deadline Sunday, March 31st.

The 4th graders memorized Shel Silverstein poems on Thursday to perform on Friday morning. They were bracketed and kids went head to head to compete based on skills of memorization, drama, and props. By the time we entered the championship round some students were performing for the fourth time that day! The drama and props got more intense and in the end, we had one winner!

1st Grade Explorer's are learning about Astronomy. To learn about the moon phases they did an Oreo activity, it was delicious!

As seen in the below video, robots at City school are suffering from winter boredom. They had so much fun during the month of code in December but now are tucked away in their boxes awaiting adventure. What does this have to do with you? Your class can help give the robots a vacation. Simply let the STEAM team know which robot you want and when! We will deliver the robots to you-- ready to go!

AND as an incentive....the class that gives the robot the best vacation will win a robot for their classroom! (contest goes through the end of March)

Our makerspace website lists all the robots we have (as well as the quantity) and has a video showing how they work with each one, as well as details on ease of use OR just reach out and we can help match your class with an appropriate robot. Parents and guardians of children who would like to attend kindergarten at St. Albans City School this coming school year, please fill out the enrollment interest form. Link to form.

Charlie Brooks, Maple Run Unified School District Board member will be at The Traveled Cup, 94 N Main Street, Saint Albans on Fridays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Charlie will be available to discuss Maple Run goals and answer any questions or concerns about the FY25 budget.

The last meeting with Charlie Brooks at the Traveled cup will be Friday, February 16th.

We are looking for children between the ages of 5 and 12 that want to play baseball or softball. Entries for both contests can be submitted directly to our local VFW Aux Post 758, PO Box 802, St Albans City, VT 05478 or they can be submitted to Team USA, St. Albans City School, 29 Bellows Street, St. Albans, VT. If giving to Team USA, please submit by 3/30. All entries must also include a completed entry form.

• UPDATED DEADLINE Due Date: Friday, February 23rd.

Both Ms. Draper and Ms. Bashaw located funds to purchase climate change books for their learning communities to soak in. They also found a way to purchase a duplicate set of books to place the school library for school-wide student access. There are eight altogether.

Black History Month is a celebration of Black American history and achievement that takes place each February in the United States. It is also called African American History Month. During Black History Month, many people learn about the accomplishments of individual Black Americans as well as the contributions of Black people to American history. This February, we are excited to celebrate Black voices with books that center around Black lives, Black joy, and Black stories that are sure to resonate far beyond a single month of the year. Join us as we #ShareBlackStories and checkout books from our City School library collection.

Woke: A Young Poet's Guide to Justice is a collection of poems to inspire kids to stay woke and become a new generation of activists.

Historically poets have been on the forefront of social movements. Woke is a collection of poems by women that reflects the joy and passion in the fight for social justice, tackling topics from discrimination to empathy, and acceptance to speaking out.

This story was going to begin like all the best stories. With a school bus falling from the sky. But no one saw it happen. They were all too busy—

Talking about boogers.

Stealing pocket change.

Skateboarding.

Wiping out.

Braving up.

Executing complicated handshakes.
