Tumuaki Korero
Kia ora e te whānau,
Wow, this term is flying past so fast and it has been such a busy one! Already we are at the end of week 7. It is so lovely to have the warmer spring days.
Last Sunday we had two crews from Outward Bound support us with a working bee, weeding the native plantings and finishing laying the chip on the pathway. Soon we will be calling out for our school community to help plant the pathway, it will be so amazing to get this project completed.
Every term, the Ministry of Education collects our attendance data to ensure that all students are regularly attending school, more than 80%. If your child’s attendance is below attendance, they will get in contact to see how they can support you. It is important your child attends school as not only does it support progress and achievement but also supports social skills, friendships, developing self-managing skills. If transport is a problem, please come and see me so we can work together to support you.
Some of our children have been bringing toys to school. We have asked in the past that no toys come to school; however following a discussion with our children, we have decided that on Fridays only, children can bring one toy to school. Please understand that the school takes no responsibility for any toys brought to school.
On Thursday, we were lucky enough to have Paralympian Kate Horan, visit Spring Creek School and share her inspirational story. Our tamariki were so engaged in her fascinating journey, as well as the extra legs she brought in.
On Wednesday 25 September, we will be having a Whānau Afternoon, where we would love our whānau and community to come along so we can share our learning, enjoy some kai and maybe get creative in te taiao. More information will be coming home soon as well as rder forms for school photos.
Don't forget to follow us on Facebook to check out more photos and information!
Have a lovely weekend..
Me mahi tahi tātau mō te oranga o te katoa.
Working together for all to succeed, nobody is left behind.
Ngā manaakitanga,
