As per information previously discussed at the November 8th PD day, teacher editions and new CIGs will be available before teachers leave in June. Outstanding Science Trade Books For Students K-12
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) has released their annual listing titled Outstanding Science Trade Books For Students K-12. This list, as well as all previous lists, can be accessed by clicking http://www.nsta.org/publications/ostb/. These books would make great school or classroom library additions.
Performance Tracker
If you find yourself with extra time on your hands during the holiday break, you could consider cleaning out your Reports in Performance Tracker. This video will show you how. P:\Performance Tracker\video tutorials\Cleaning Your Performance Tracker Reports Area.mp4. Remember, when you delete reports, you are NOT deleting any data.
SchoolPace: Co-Teacher Access
The Scheduler at each building should assign co-teachers (Learning Support, ESL) to the appropriate course section in the Master Schedule by January 13th. This is similar to entering secondary teachers to classes for PVAAS. Co-teachers who are assigned as secondary teachers will then have access to these classes in SchoolPace. Co-teachers will be emailed a username and password for SchoolPace in mid-January. Contact the helpdesk if you have questions.
Lancaster Reads/ARC
Each weekend day and holiday counts as one step – send home books, books, and more books for the break.
Check out Epic! www.getepic.com It is free for teachers and has a great “read to me” feature for RTM and 1Y students. The books go up to high school lexile level in fiction and nonfiction. See attached PowerPoint for an overview of the resource. This is an SDoL approved app.
Morning Meeting Focus: KINDNESS
See someone going above and beyond...in addition to the paper version of the Staff Spotlight found in the main office here is a link that can also be used to celebrate each other…it can be completely anonymous and there is also a spot for choice on how you feel the celebration should be shared.
