Hungate Echo
Spring Term 1, Week 2
A word from Mr Broom
It's been a week of Learning Journey launches, trips and exciting activities at Sherburn Hungate, as the curriculum moves into full swing for the Spring Term. I took the chance to visit Y5/6 for English earlier this week too, and I must say I was incredibly impressed with the children's passion and attitude for learning. It was a real pleasure to see. A little bit further down school, I was also impressed with the handwriting in Year 2. They're doing a super job.
Next week, we've our Science review by colleagues from across the STARMAT. I'm sure they will be blown away by the quality of Science on offer at our school.
Finally, a big thank you to Mark and Graham from the site team, for keeping our site safe in this cold snap.
Have a super weekend everyone.
This Week in School
Weather Appropriate Clothing
Please could you ensure your children are sent with a warm coat every day as well as a hat, scarves and gloves if required. We have children coming to school with no coats or wearing only a fleece. Children must have a coat as we are outside for both break and lunch time and wearing only a fleece or jumper/cardigan is not acceptable. Please ensure all uniform is labeled, this includes hats, scarves and gloves.
Staff Shoutouts
Staff shoutouts are back for 24-25 and there's no better way of helping to keep our staff morale high than letting them know how you think.
Happy Staff + Happy Children = Happy Family.
If you can spare a minute or two to let someone know how great they are, it would be much appreciated, especially at this challenging time for us all. Thank you.

Regular Items - Now Echo Regulars
Following feedback from our parent governors, we've updated the way that the weekly Hungate Echo works so that it is sharper with information you need. A new newsletter, known as the Echo Regulars will contain all the most important regular information that our families may need. It has a permanent home on our website at the link below. Here you will find community events, regular reminders and key information. When I update it, I'll put a short line at the bottom of the Hungate Echo to let you know.
