Spring Conferences - March 12th & 13th (Broadway building)
Spring family conferences will take place after school on Wednesday, March 12th and all day Thursday, March 13th. We expect 100% participation in conferences, so please reserve time for this important check-in regarding your student's progress! Please find your teacher's signup here and reserve your spot as soon as possible.
There will be no CampFire on Wednesday, March 12th, so that all classrooms can be used for conferences. Additionally, we ask that all families pick students up at 1:50 pm dismissal time so that all staff can be active in conferences that afternoon. Thank you!
There will be no school on Thursday, 13th or Friday, March 14th, and Spring Break is the week of March 17th-21st.
2025 Family Survey
Every spring we seek input from our current families to learn what is working at Citizens and what needs improvement. We intentionally reflect on this feedback and make adjustments as needed. In addition to this family survey, our 3rd-8th graders and staff members will be completing similar surveys to give their input.
We would like to hear from every Citizens family! Please take 5-10 minutes this week to complete this family survey.
3rd Quarter Date Change (Broadway building)
Due to the number of inclement weather days this winter, we are adjusting the academic calendar. The third quarter will now end on March 28th instead of March 7th. This change more evenly distributes the instructional days between the third and fourth quarters. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your child's teacher(s).
Bond Q&A with Dr. Miles - Friday, March 7th
Following Friday Morning Sing this Friday, all caregivers are invited to join Dr. Miles for a Q&A about the bond that is a part of the upcoming April 8th election. Please join us to learn more!
Re-Enrollment for 2025-2026
The re-enrollment period has now ended, and students' spots for next year are no longer guaranteed. If you missed the re-enrollment period but still plan for your students to attend Citizens next year, please contact Katy Lineberry right away.
Also, if your family will not be returning for the 2025-2026 school year, please email with this information, as we are required to account for every student's intentions for next year. This will also ensure you don't continue to receive reminder emails and calls. We will miss your family!
Referral Program (All PreK-8th grade families)
If a family you refer accepts a spot and fully enrolls for the 2025-2026 school year, you could earn a referral reward! Just be sure the family includes your name on their online registration form, and you'll earn a $25 gift card per student once they fully enroll and attend Citizens on the first day of school in August. New families can apply today at www.schoolappkc.org.
Kansas City Summer Programs
Are you already looking at options for summer camps, classes, and other programs for your children? Show Me KC Schools now includes information about "Out of School Time Programs" on their website! This includes paid and free programs for all ages and interests! Visit https://showmekcschools.org/out-of-school-time/ to check it out!
Spirit Wear Available!
More spirit wear inventory has been adding to the Citizens Merch Store! Items can be purchased online and will be sent home with students in the Broadway building. If your child attends class at Operation Breakthrough, items will be made available for pickup at the front desk of the Broadway building. Reach out to Josh Albarelli with any questions!
